ESPN:
Cam Newton said the reason he didn't throw deep today had nothing to do with his surgically-repaired shoulder. Newton said he didn't even think about the shoulder today. Asked how it felt not to be a part of the running game - he rushed 3 times for a career-low minus 2 yards - the Panthers' quarterback said ‘'great.''

Losing to the DC Football Club at home is a fireable offense.
It'll be interesting to see if the new HC wants to bring back Cam or go with Allen or move in a different direction.

Why? He was on the hot seat before the SB run. Cam was his success. Nothing special and I think they want someone to bring in this new era.
Not accomplishing much by firing him right now. What are you going to learn?

I don't know what they accomplished, but they might have done Rivera a small favor. There are at least a half dozen teams that will be looking for a new head coach over the off season. Anyone starting to look ahead at least knows he is on the market. And they are dead in the NFC now anyway so it really does nothing for them either way.

Kuechly is retiring. Wow. Can't blame him at all.
Surprising, still good, but good for him.

These last few years he has been beaten up and had several concussions. Didn't he miss like half a season with a concussion.?

I wonder sometimes if we need to re-examine the sport when we say things like "good for him" when a player decides to protect his body and brain rather than continue to play.

And Joe Brady is their new OC..days after saying he would stay at LSU..which of course we all knew was bs.
Brady and Rhule are going to make a really good staff for Carolina. Two great hires, IMO.
