They're getting Mayfield for a conditional 5th Rd pick in 2024. Cleveland will be paying over half his salary too.
lol browns

Wow, an absolute steal for the Panthers.
Huge Baker fan now.
I wonder how Browns fans are feeling right about now?

This is like the Ravens trading away Flacco after 3 seasons for a 5th rounder and bringing in Michael Vick.
I know Baker didn't have the W/L success Flacco had but he was a fan favorite in Cleveland. Watson is head and shoulders a better QB but he might also not even play.
And now Baker wants to be Rick Vaughn when it comes to the Browns.

Baker can be a middle of the pack QB, and you can win with that. The Browns soured on him after he wasn't productive last year... playing with 1 arm... the team let him down, by allowing him to play.
How the Browns trade him now with everything going on with Watson just feels weird.
Carolina gets a legitimate NFL qb. They've got some weapons.

They'd already alienated him so he wouldn't have played even if Watson gets suspended. And the Browns have already taken on the mantle of being pro-rape, so they're gonna roll with Watson and advocate for him to play.
Baker is passable, but I don't think he's good. Super interesting to me that the #1 and #3 pick QBs from 2018 are now together on a different roster. Just shows how difficult finding a QB is even if you are armed with a high pick in what seems like a very a deep class.

You think Baker would have sat out? I would have called that bluff.
I'm thinking Watson is going to be out the entire year. Maybe the Browns are confident that isn't the case.

Yes, I think he'd have sat out or shown up only at week 12 or whenever it is that he needs to get credit for the season and become a FA.
