Diamondbacks signed David Hernandez to a 2 year extension. Good for them both.

I think it's safe to say that the Diamondbacks won that trade. You can't win'em all. We still haven't figured out 3B. I don't really regret this trade though.

I didn't see figures in that article but he's under team control I believe both of these years anyways.

I was a huge fan of David Hernandez, but I also don't really regret making this trade. Arizona definitely has the better player going forward, one who I think will be a very good closer, but it was a trade worth making at the time even though the price was a little steep. If Reynolds had been able to field as he did in Arizona, it would have been a total win-win for both sides, but his defense slipped a lot last year even from the previous season before completely falling off a cliff this year. He's now basically just a DH, and unfortunately he got off to a slow start with the bat this season and his offensive numbers aren't really where you'd expect them to be.

This is how I feel. I'll also add that even though I believe that Hernandez is better than Reynolds, we needed a hitting corner infielder more than a bullpen arm. Still do, in fact. I still think believe that the 2012 Orioles are better with Reynolds than they would be if he were swapped with Hernandez. Reynolds improves our corner infield positional depth more than Hernandez would improve our pen. Now, if Hernandez could make it as a starting pitcher...well, all bets are off.

I never would have advocated it in the off season, but Kubel and his .895 OPS would have looked pretty good in LF this year. His defense hasn't even been as terrible as in years past, at least according to the always reliable UZR. Hindsight is 20/20.

Saw that the Diamondbacks acquired Daniel Cabrera. Didn't know that he was still playing baseball. Hope it works out for him.

So they have David Hernandez, Brad Bergesen, Kam Mickolio, Matt Albers, Josh Bell, and Daniel Cabrera. Who's next, Jamie Walker? Garrett Atkins?

I admit I wanted him on a reasonable deal and that I laughed when I saw how much the Diamondbacks gave him. To quote Social Distortion: "I was wrong"

Since ARI got DCab, at AAA he's faced 49 batters and walked exactly one of them... his WHIP is 0.692...

I know, I know... SSS... but still...

Diamondbacks acquired P Heath Bell, IF Cliff Pennington and cash considerations in a three team deal with Florida and Oakland. Oakland received OF Chris Young and cash, while Florida received minor league IF Yordy Cabrera. Good move by Arizona making their bullpen a little bit better and Bell has experience pitching in the NL West.
