The Padres have talent, although the pitching is questionable. I could see Manny getting white hot coming out of the gate and leading a Padres fast start

With all due respect to Adrian Gonzalez and Jake Peavy, it's incredible how the Padres after Gwynn went from having no one really considered nationally relevant to a bonafide superstar

Or that in Year 2 of Machado's deal, his star has seemingly been eclipsed on his own team.

He's talked about it before it seems like he's enjoying the grizzled veteran role just helping the young star just like JJ Hardy had when Manny came up

This is legitimately one of the most fun teams in baseball to watch. All the players seem to be enjoying themselves every night, and they're pretty good at this whole "playing baseball" thing too. I'll give an extra shout to the broadcast team of Don Orsillo and Mark Grant, who are phenomenal.

That is incredible.
Teams will go a normal year without 5.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

I just got traded to Padres Sports and Life, they're really going nuts with this
Best of luck to all!
Can't believe they gave three good prospects for you. It was an offer too good to refuse. Good luck over there!

Looks like Clevinger is also heading out west.

Preller lands his frontline starter, 2 catchers, and a solid reliever and keeps his top prospects. Unbelievable.
Cal Quantril, Gabrial Arias, Joey Cantillo, Austin Hedges, Josh Naylor, and Owen Miller for Clevinger. All mostly spare Padres parts.
