Warren Sharp:
I try not to think about it, but it sucks that Aaron Rodgers prime is being wasted working for Mike McCarthy when you see who Brees & Brady get to work with, not to mention young signal callers like McVay & Shanny crushing with creativity.

Long overdue.
Extremely long. Wonder if he even made off the field before getting the news.

Reports are that he wasn't expecting it. Which, you know, makes one of us.

The #Packers stick and pick, grabbing the top defender on their board. It’s #Michigan DL Rashan Gary at No. 12. His shoulder was flagged for a torn labrum, which is something to keep an eye on.
Rashan Gary, while crazy athletic, lacks the refinement as a pass rusher as other players on the board. Mike Pettine and his assistants have a lot of work cut out for them in order to make the Packers look smart here.

At 26, Green Bay takes Jordan Love, QB, Utah State.

Seems like an odd pick considering there's still a few more years of your franchise QB and coming off an NFC Championship loss.

The Packers totally mystified me. Coming off the NFC championship where they got totally run all over, I figured maybe defense or WR was the direction they would go in.

It will be very interesting to see if Rodgers, treats Love better than Farve treated him.

In all of Aaron Rodgers' time in Green Bay, the Packers never took a receiver or running back in the first round. This year, however, they traded up in the first round to take his possible successor. Talk about a cattle-prod of a draft pick.

They appear to be trying to copy the San Francisco offense that flattened them in the championship game.
