Hunter back on the mound tomorrow, as the O's go for the series sweep in Boston.

Things worked out for Hunter to gain another opportunity. Faces his old team tonight, with a chance to help the O's get the series split.

Against Texas, Hunter went 6 ip, allowing 5 hits, 1 hr, 4 er, 1 bb, with 7 k's.

Due to that performance, he earned the start tonight in Kansas City.

Hunter is on the mound for the Birds tonight. Over his last two starts, he has gone 13 innings, allowing 12 hits, 6 er, 1 hr, 2 bb’s, with 8 k’s, and 21 grounders. Against KC, he threw just 82 pitches in his 7 innings of work. Will be interesting to see if he can again be that efficient against Boston’s patience tonight. The Red Sox knocked him around a bit on 5/6.

He'll need to eat some innings, that is his job after all with a not so great weekend in terms of IPs by starters this week. If we experience a marathon game(s) and we know the O's like to play them, we will probably need to pluck pitchers out of Norfolk.

Hunter starting tomorrow night in Toronto.

Want to win the first game of the series, especially after losing the home series' to Boston and KC, and facing Romero and Morrow the following two games.

Just a horrible, non-competitive start from Hunter tonight. He allowed a Johnson double to begin the Toronto 1st. That was followed by a Rasmus single, which had Hunter and the O's quickly down 1-0. Toronto got their lead off man on in the 2nd as well, as Cooper singled to LCF. Mathis followed Cooper with a single of his own. Hunter was not helped with the Davis error in the 3rd, but he hurt himself by leaving the ball out over the plate to Encarnacion. The 4th started with Hunter going full to Vizquel, and allowing a single to RF. Johnson would follow with a HR to deep CF, ending Hunter's night. 3 ip, 9 hits, 2 hr's, 5 er, 0 bb's, 0 k's. Still like what Hunter could provide out of the pen, but hopefully it will be awhile until he starts again.

Can't stand Hunter. Britton can't get healthy fast enough.

Send him to the pen, not AAA.

Don't need 5th starter till mid June...2 more MiL starts for Britton and then bring him up.

It look like June 16th is the next day a 5th starter is needed.

Britton, please.

Britton could start the 31st, 5th and 10th....you could bring him up sooner but by doing this, you give him that one extra start, probably in AAA and you can keep your 4 current starters on regular rest. Seems to make sense all around.

Yeah, send him down or to the pen, but there's no need for him to start anymore unless there's an injury.

Amen to that. I haven't see him throw a ball below waste high for a strike all season. I'm not sure what he's working on between starts. I hear the broadcast crew constantly talking about him needing to be low in the zone. So if they know it, he knows it and yet he is unable to do it. He's gotta go for now.

Baseball is such a confidence game, and it is obvious that Hunter is lacking confidence. Hunter's role may evolve to a BP guy. He needs to relax and I hear Va. Beach is a nice place to do that. It is only about a 30 minute ride to Norfolk.

Britt indicated to me on Twitter that she thinks Britton gets called up before the 16th.

I heard Rick Peterson say on 105.7 this morning say that after his next start he'd essentially be where he'd would have been at the end of Spring Training and that they would evaluate him then on where to go from there.

Surprised they did this before activating Britton.
