I did not expect Pivetta to get a longer deal than Bregman. Money obviously way different.

It'd be kind of a lot to sacrifice one of our comp picks to sign him which is what it would cost us (3rd highest pick). I'm pretty down on Pivetta, guess I'm looking at 2023 as a fluke and other than that he's been league average at best and below more often.
I'm not a fan of the SP solutions being Morton and Sugano, but I don't think I'd be any happier with Pivetta replacing one of them and losing the pick. Probably less happy, actually.

I like pitchers who miss bats at a high rate, which Pivetta consistently does.
I'm fine with our starting 5, we were able to win 101 in 23 with a pretty meh rotation outside of Bradish, so I think we'll be OK this year. I was really hoping Elias would make another move for a SP, though.
