This is not the best, or second best, team Lamar has had, and neither of them got close to the Super Bowl.

I'm not sure where your confidence is coming from. It's the same team with the same identity with more problems.

To be fair, Lamar isn't the one dropping interceptions. I recall at least three

Know way of proving it, but I think it's just father time starting to catch up to him and nothing related to the yips or psyching himself out.

He's not that kid out of Texas anymore. It happens to all of us. We have to start finishing drives. And what's with Henry only getting 11 rushes. Have they learned nothing?

Possible, but he's still not all that old for a kicker.  They don't all kick into their 40s, but a lot of them do especially the best ones, and Tucker is only 35.

I know they would never give out the information, but I would love to find out what his success rate has been like during practice this year.

They never would. But I recall one of the announcers mention before the miss that he was struggling during warm ups with long kicks. At the end of the day though, he's the least of the team's problems.

There has to be something mechanical and/or mental in play with Tucker. For like a decade everything he hit practically went straight and like 70-80% of the time (gut feeling here) probably crossed the bar in the middle third of the uprights. Now even a lot of his XPs, or at least enough to be noticeable, are moving hard one way or another to my eye. The game tying FG in Cincy started hard left and sliced (maybe wind aided) back in. But even that one I find it hard to believe he meant to start it THAT FAR outside the left upright. I could be wrong, but... sure felt like he had a touch of good luck on his side with that one. I play my golf driver left fairway or left rough because I'm gonna slice it almost every time. But I suck.

Yesterday wasn't on Lamar. It was on the piss poor defense.

We'd probably have won if he only had 10.

Henry: 11 rushes

Cleveland was blitzing a ton and Lamar was constantly under pressure, so why not use DH more?

I thought Henry was going to pass when he lined up under center like he did against us in the 2019 playoffs, which would have also been dumb. Just a typical example of a NFL coordinator trying to outsmart himself.

Still not quite as dumb as lining up Charlie Kolar under center and getting penalized for a false start, but at least they picked up the first down on the next play so that was all but forgotten.

You mean our #3 TE isn't as good at QB as our  2 time MVP????

Again, the trickeration tells you the concern Monken had about the OL beating the Cle DL for a yard and a half. And it was a full yard in a half. Think that played a role too. Take the damn points there against a bad team otherwise.  Its ok to start the game with 3 there vs trying for 7. Thats the thing, it was 3 free or 3 more chances to get 7.Not definitevly 7.

I think the TE tush push has worked every single time they've tried it (excluding the pre-snap penalty plays), but I still hate it.  If its been unsuccessful, please remind me, because I want more reason to dislike it.

The decision to go for it on 4th is more nuanced than the pure analytics measure. Thats all I can say for sure. There are times I agree to go that arent an obvious call. THere are times where Im neutral. There are times I disagree. My gut factors gameflow, opponent, momentum.

I am very skeptical that someone off the street would be an improvement right now.

Keep doing what You're doing and You'll keep getting what you get. Tucker was an UDFA, someone on the street can be a reliable NFL kicker. It's past time to push Tucker.

Tucker was signed after the draft when anyone worth trying gets scooped up. The pool is thinner mid-season.

I don't think Tucker has fallen below a street kicker. Maybe if things get worse, the two kicks yesterday (including the make) were the two worst balls he's kicked all year. But right now Id be shocked if there is someone sitting on a couch who's better than Tucker. He's still an NFL kicker, just not close to the best around anymore (at least not right now). I expect that what Tucker has done this year is better than what a replacement would've done, and I'm more optimistic about Tucker rediscovering it than I am about someone nobody wants coming in and being really good.

His FG percentage is 76.7 so far this year.

That is one of the worst percentages in the league.

Someone off the street could probably do just as well as he has this year.

He'll also be a year older next year and count over 7 million against the cap.

He's not good enough right now to trust and He's replaceable
