Britton has been in the organization forever. I can't imagine scenario where he's not back (assuming his contract is up).

Chris Holt leaving, too.

The Baseball side movement seems a little strange to me.  You often see capable people moving out of Orgs to higher jobs (you see TB FO often)...but this all seems like a largely lateral exodus (not meant to under-characterize that if it's wrong).

There's been a huge changeout in the higher levels of the non-Baseball part of the org but that's kind of to be expected with the new ownership changes, but the baseball side seems odd.

I think this is the offseason where we will really see just how the FO views this franchise. No more excuses. Time to show us what you got.

He would need to be given a ML job to be retained. His contract is up so he may decide to go elsewhere. Apparently that is what happened with Borschalty. Contract was up and he chose to take the Minn job

Os options have to be decided on today. Coulombe, Perez, OHearn, and Dominguez. It wont surprise me if they decline Dominguez.

Picked them all up except Columbe

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Just shows once again how the FO values the ability to be a power pitcher over actual results.....smh

They declined Coulombe!?  I don't understand that at all.  He finished the year healthy.  So bizarre.

Very surprising. Maybe they’re worried about his health? They gotta know something that led to that decision. Or have plans to attack the pen elsewhere.

I wonder if they have reason to be concerned with Coulombe’s ability to stay healthy moving forward, otherwise, I would definitely have kept him over Perez.  Hopefully another team has expressed interest in trading for Perez.  I would also have moved on from Dominguez.

Yeah maybe Coulombe wasn't really healthy or was potentially questionable going forward. That's all that makes sense to me.

They spent about half of what Coulombe was owed on Jimenez this summer. Seems a strange place to get stingy.

I'm thinking maybe there's an injury issue or perhaps the Orioles are looking to sign him to a longer deal. Otherwise, it doesn't make a ton of sense since $4 million is peanuts today.

Are they running it back with O'Hearn, or just picking up the option to be a part of a package later this winter? Part-timer, no value with the glove whose bat went cold last May, and then again later in the summer when they had to rely on it more often after Mounty went down.

I mean they just gotta know something we dont. They spent double that on a RP whos not worth 8 mil so I refuse to believe its penny pinching. His arm must be really bad.

Weird not to pick up Coulombe, but we are LHRP H
heavy with Akin, Perez, and Soto. I probably prefer Coulombe to all of them except maybe Akin.

QO's for both Burnes and Santander.

Andy Kostka@afkostka

As expected, the Orioles have extended qualifying offers to right-hander Corbin Burnes and outfielder Anthony Santander.

Those players will have until Nov. 19 to decide whether to accept the one-year, $21.05 million deal or hit the open market.

My guess is trade Mountcastle, keep O'Hearn.  O'Hearn is mostly DH against RHP, occasionally at 1B when Mayo gets some time off.

May depend on what they do with Santander.  Hard to see Santander, O'Hearn, Mountcastle, Mayo and Kjerstad all on the team.

I have to assume it's some injury issue that's not public.  If it's not, that really doesn't bode well.  If they are making a choice between Coulombe and Perez for the roster, ok, but Coulombe has value and we can't just release him.  That means we can't figure out how to trade him.  I'll assume it's an injury until we see what he does in the market.

We've picked up 3 waiver types so far.  That's fine and doesn't have to mean anything, but...
