I was thinking that having Povich on the WC roster as long man would be preferable to him potentially starting game 1 of the ALDS...  but I guess the silver lining of Povich starting that game is that it would mean the O's made it to the ALDS.  It will be interesting to see which way they go.

Povich actually has been better than Suarez in September, not that it's any sort of sample.

Just win the WC in two games please.

Selby is a surprise I guess.

I'd have preferred Suarez to Selby (which would've meant not letting him go 6 on Sunday).  He gives you depth in case a game goes deep into extras or if something happens and your starter only goes 2-4 innings.

Holliday is there?

Agree nothing seems unusual except Selby. Povich a mild surprise, he's the mop up/long man I guess if there is trouble early. Suarez was possible as a long man but pitching Sunday removed that chance I guess.

Oops.  Looked right past him.

So I am hearing that Kremer can't/won't pitch Thursday because it's Rosh Hashana. My friends have said they heard it on local sports talk today. If that is true, how the F can you leave Suarez off the roster and pitch him in a meaningless game 162? I have a hard time believing this is true but if it is, Hyde deserves to be fired on the spot.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

That would be  a FO mistake. But I cant believe this since he was added to the postseason roster. This would have to be known/planned for. If Dean doesnt pitch and hes healthy I would wonder if the issues going on in the middle east play any part. Im pretty sure he has close relatives over there

There's no way that could be true.

He pitched last year while 10/7 attacks were unfolding. I don't see how he could pitch then and not pitch now but that is up to him. His beliefs are his beliefs. If this affects the starting pitching this series then it's on the FO.

Kremer would be on 9 days rest by Thursday, too. He could have pitched today or tomorrow (before sundown) if this rumor is true.

He pitched on Rosh Hashana last year. It would be shocking to me if he was put on the roster and won't pitch because of that, they certainly would have talked to him.

The info could have been wrong. After all it is local sports talk. But just because he pitched last year doesn't mean he would this year considering the developments in the ME since then.

Then he should have told the team before today. That's what makes this sound ridiculous, for it to be true there has to be zero communication going on, if that's the case that's a sign there are deeper problems than we thought here. I wonder who the local sports talk is, cause half of them are full of it.

Friends said it was 105.7. More than  one person heard it. But like I said, could be nothing...just odd they would even mention it if there was nothing to it.

So, lets think this through logically. Burnes has to start GM 1. Starting Dean today was never really an option. It certainly is more of an option to start him in Game 2. So, if Dean told the Os Im not pitching Rosh Hashanah would they still add him knowing he could only pitch Wed but not 100% sure they would commit to him pitching Wed if we lost game 1. I could see that. I mean I thought it was possible they went with 11 pitchers. They did end up going with 12. The only part of it that doesnt make sense is why have Suarez throw so many inning and make himself unavailable for this series. Unless they straight preferred Povich to him as the 4th SP

They'll win tomorrow but the odds are against us winning the series. KC is not that good so it's on the O's to go out and win both games. It's more about us than about them.
