I could live with it if he were still working the count and getting on base. I don't like the new approach for a tiny bit more power.

I'm not out if the new Ownership is going to spend more...but I'm very skeptical of it going well. The would be extension would not be a just baseball between the lines move.
For a real answer I'd have to know if they think Basallo can stay at catcher.

Yep. He's gotten himself into bad habits and has been lost for over a month. If it were me, he'd be hitting at the bottom of the order, not 2nd.

He'll bust out of it eventually, too good not to. But damn his July was awful and August hasn't started any better.

I know I sound like I'm a thousand years old, but this launch angle he has on every swing gets old imo. I feel like he's talented enough that if he just tried to hit more line drives and use the whole field, he'd be more productive overall.
