It’s Mayo time.
Wow.
What’s going on right now? Am I missing something procedural that needed to occur before this was to happen?

Urias looked bad . He may be hurt. Looked like his arm may be hurting.

I mentioned to my wife earlier tonight after Urias ole’d himself out of being able to play that 104 mph grounder that doing that dance might’ve hurt worse than just fielding the damn ball itself.

As I said earlier, Elias and the FO arent playing games. They are trying to beat the Yanks out of the division. I dont think Mayo being ROY eligible had anything to do with him not getting the call earlier today. They prob are leery of his defense at 3b but Urias either is hurt or just looked bad enough tonight that they said screw it. Mayo may be shaky but at least he has more offensive upside. One thing is for sure, if he is being called up he is going to play. Just like Jackson. He will not be sitting the bench

Vavra wore #23 in the bigs, but he’s back in AAA. Does Mayo assume the #23 he’s worn in Norfolk?

Makes sense (the starting at 3B part). Mayo hits righties better than lefties and Cleveland is starting a righthander with an elevated ERA tomorrow.

It's like they often do everything one day late just to piss off the fans. Could Mayo not get to Cleveland in time for yesterday's game?
Excited he's getting the nod. Guess this means they aren't convinced that he can't play 3B.

Let’s wait and see who he’s replacing. Hopefully it’s Soto and not another player injured.

Totally makes zero sense to me. If they thought he could play 3b he should have been up weeks ago. Makes some of their deadline moves even wierder.

I would think the Westburg + Mateo injuries make whatever reservations they had about his defense less so. Plus Urias isn’t exactly playing GG level defense.

Like 2035 said, Urias hasn't looked good at third and he seems disinterested in the field.

They have to add mayo to the ketchup, mustard, relish hot dog race don’t they? Like how could they not?
I said this a while back.
But the answer simply is that it's gross.
