If I'm Burnes, I'm not a happy man with this team the way they DON'T HIT when he pitches.

Two runs might be enough for tonight.

Why not call a pitchout? Like, you know it's coming for dog's sake.

He was throwing a great game that devolved into a quality start. He was not the problem tonight.

Burnes has been good. Not dominant.

Adley is a liability against teams that can run.

That's how his starts go. He needs to be rescued as he exits.

He was fine tonight. 3 runs, 3 walks, 5 hits. Pretty good.

He's been better than good. He's thrown QS's every time he's pitched save the two times he was taken out in the 5th.

His problem is the team isn't scoring when he pitches.

Seriously - you can't expect peak Clemens or Pedro. That's a bygone era.

Not really sure how you manage to get shut out by this team and the pitchers they faced today. What a dud.

I agree but he gets absolutely no run support.

I know Adleys stats on throwing guys out. But I'd like to see just who is running on him and who he is throwing out. Might be more guys who wouldn't normally run are trying on him. Cause stats aside he's just not good at throwing.

Nationals are a very fast team that steals a lot of bases on everyone.

The problem tonight is the bats, period.

His problem is the team isn't scoring when he pitches.

Coming into tonight he was...

21st in ERA
32nd in Ks
36th in K/9
Tied for 9th in QS
7th in WHIP
Tied for 67th in WAR.

I don't know what his more advanced metrics look like compared to others, but all of that paints the same picture.

He's been fine. He's a #2.
