IDK. I think I am taking Irvin over Wells. Not that it matters. Irvin just seems like he knows how to pitch better.
What is that based on? He's gotten by primarily on command and pitchability, IMO. The stuff and velocity isn't impressive, but he knows how to use it successfully. He's just a league average-ish guy, I think, but that's easily better than what Irvin is. I do agree I'd rather have him in the bullpen, he's been really effective there. Not sure if the stuff plays up or he can just use his wiles more when only facing a guy once, but that's worked well for him.

Wells stuff isn't great so when he's not commanding like tonight he's gonna get hit around. Won't fool many guys with 92 MPH when you can't locate your off speed stuff.

Curveball has been better tonight than his cutter/slider yet he's still relying on those two. Be lucky to get another inning or two out of him and save some BP.

Probably won't matter much for tonight, but Yelich removed due to lower back discomfort. Maybe we'll avoid his bat in the lineup over the weekend.

I talked a lotta crap about Cowser! He deserved it IMO. But he showed up to ST with the right adjustments.
