Hope they can add another to that list before the portal closes. Another big to eat minutes behind Reese and Queen would be nice.
MD adds Tafara Gapare.

Shaping up to be the most talented MD team in sometime.
Results this season won't come down to talent on paper. That certainly wasn't the issue last year either. It all comes down to team chemistry and coaching. Impossible to say how well or poorly this team will do until we see them on the court for at least 10-15 games.
One thing is certain: the boosters have done their job. This now falls entirely on Willard's shoulders.

The off season has been a big success. I have said before, I think they settled for just filling spots with their transfers last year, I think they got talent this year.
I think Willard can coach, but plain and simple last years team could not shoot. If a team can not shoot, the results are going to be bad.

One more shooter, either a guard or a wing.

What was the transfer class last year? Stephens and Geronimo? Stephens got hurt and Geronimo is not a significant player, but was forced into a starting role.
I see Traore was a transfer, too. He looked promising when on the floor but barely saw the floor despite almost no big depth.
Yea Traore was the third transfer. I thought he looked wild and often out of place when he was in there.

Maybe Willard decided much wasn't needed with the portal since he had Young, Scott, and Reese returning plus, what looked to be, a pretty good HS recruiting class coming in.
More like he didn't have the money to get any impact players in the portal even if he'd wanted to. The small amount of money the boosters raised last off-season all went to retaining Young, Scott, and Reese.

Hansberry is headed to West Virginia.Amani Hansberry (Illinois) is rumored to be entering the transfer portal soon. He's a native of Silver Spring and went to Mount St. Joseph's, so assume Maryland would be in on him.

Pope is headed to USC.Maryland reportedly showing interest in Bryce Pope (UC San Diego) and Jason Rivera-Torres (Vanderbilt).

UMTerps: Maryland Hires Omari DeBerry As Director of NIL Services
https://umterps.com/...ull-circle.aspx
Maryland Athletics recently hired Omari DeBerry as its new Director of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) services. DeBerry brings the knowledge and passion to help provide and identify resources for student-athletes, coaches, and administration through his extensive background.
DeBerry previously served as the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development and NIL at Ohio State. He’s also a former Buckeyes men’s lacrosse student-athlete and a graduate of the university, earning his master’s degree in sport management. However, DeBerry returned to his hometown area for his new position at the University of Maryland. The Calvert Hall High School graduate and native of Woodstock, Md., is excited and eager to grow in his new role.

With the new law in Virginia that goes into effect this summer, gotta think other states will quickly follow suit (don’t want your state’s schools to be at a disadvantage in recruiting) and the schools will be the ones directly making the NIL payments instead of this whole charade of collectives/advisors.

Maryland has reportedly been in contact with Ian Martinez (Utah State) regarding a return to College Park.
Martinez has announced that he'll be returning to Utah State, but there are rumblings that he could still end up returning to Maryland. Stay tuned.

This seems like a nice get. Ohio St knows a thing or two about NIL. Just ask Treveyon Henderson.UMTerps: Maryland Hires Omari DeBerry As Director of NIL Services
