Was about to brag that I predicted a significant trade by the end of the month. Then remembered today is the 1st.
You can claim that the only reason it wasn't announced yesterday is because they had other things to talk about.

Sure lets go with that.

Biggest trade acquistion since Reggie?? Like as far as bringing in a big name in a trade?? Any Im missing. Glen Davis was a big trade but not sure he had Burnes credentials
Maybe Andrew Miller, but that was a deadline deal. I'd say Sammy Sosa, but his star had faded badly by the time he got here.

I always forget about Sosa playing here. He wasnt in his prime but was certainly still a big name

This is what prioritizing winning now looks like. Elias has now shown he can turn the switch.

Dunno about that, but probably the biggest SP the O’s have traded for since Cuellar?

Maybe I don't have to say this, but I am a huge fan of the move. <<triple thumbs up>>
More thoughts, but I want this one to sit by itself because it's the only one that actually matters.

They havent traded for many established big name bats either. FA signings yes but not trades. I do think Sosa is the right answer as far as name value.

Mike Torrez won 20 games the one season he was here.

There was Frank Robinson, of course, but you stated "since Reggie" so I didn't think that one counted.

It’s still 1/31 in Japan

Sosa was probably a lot closer to 40 than 35 when he was in Baltimore.

Oh that’s a good one.

I think this move puts Wells in the bullpen. That's almost like having a reliever thrown into the deal.
