Even during the lean years of constant losing, players enjoyed their time here and didn't want to leave. I could never figure it out. So, I do think there is that element to think about on whether Burns would bolt after next year. Maybe he might enjoy Baltimore so much, he'd love to make it long term. It would especially be enticing if they get to the playoffs and World Series.
Corbin Burnes!!!!

We are all happy this happened and we dont need to get into a debate about things we are happy about.
We are all happy about it. ....but what's interesting is that you and a couple others seem to want to add a layer of context to it to support something you want to be true and drive a wedge into others.
We don't actually know what (how it) happened. Given everything else we know, I'd suggest your viewpoint would be the least likely option. Does saying that make me negative about the trade? Absolutely not, but you (and others) try to to act like one move is justification of any position you want to hold.
They're basically running my offseason. You keep trying to throw shade at me (several times now) as if you really want me to respond. Kimbrel/Burnes is a B+ for me. The off-season is an automatic A with the projection of ownership change.
....but there's still a lot more work to do to position the roster for opening day and if we really want to do some things to get this offseason and the Team to the next level, then go get an Adley extension done (I've already provided the answer). We need to free up a spot for one or more younger guys, at a minimum, an OF spot. Trade Stowers to SD. Find Urias a new home in SEA or NY. I'm not in the "RHed bat" or "add a RP" club so most of what's left for me is posturing the team for the roster I want to win with in 2024 (and set it up for future years). Doing nothing else means we're going to have the best AAA team ever.
I want to win the offseason, because it sets you up for the season and Burnes does that in many respects....but we haven't won anything yet, so let's get some more things done (it's 4 FEB), get down to ST, and get ready to kick some ass this year. We'll have to play with expectations this year, which is good, but that's always a different challenge. .

I guess those of you that pick this angle think it's cute or funny or impacts me somehow....I would just point out, it only reflects poorly on you. It is an Orioles baseball message board.
You get the tribal credit or whatever it is you think you need, but it's not that many words. It's even organized and paragraphed to support comprehension, not just one long, poorly punctuated, poorly constructed thought

Like every Os fan didnt have Burnes on the wish list. But since they ran his playbook maybe he should expect a call from the FO about a job soon. Surely Mikey E knows of dude by now.

It applied to part of his approach and he decided it was better to throw shade.

Anyone replying with a this doesn’t impact me seems impacted, but maybe it’s just me. That said, your last bit there was funny. I enjoyed that. All in good fun from my end. What victory lap. He said Elias was too antisocial to build relationships and make notable trades. Every Os fan wanted Burnes from Day 1. Is this a special dude grading scale you are using to give him props??
Not gonna lie, Im also a little ticked I couldn't get Phelan to take the bait earlier.

I did forget the bit about the introverted Elias not being able to establish baseball relationships.

Nightengale also said the Os had interest in bringing Hicks back. Something else I said I would've tried to do. Very good bat from then right side. Good eye. Can play OF well enough in a pinch. Wish we wouldve got that done.

Corbin Burnes was probably best case scenario for off-season additions and it happened at a relatively small cost. Granted, it's an expiring contract, but I'd take him over Cease and Luzardo.
Same here. This is more than I thought they would do.
