Now what? Hes not getting 400+ carries a year. Yeah, no s***
30 carries a game is 510 for the year. Pretty devastating and deeply meaningful admission from the Ravens that they don't plan to use him that much. Just fold the team.

There are lots of guys who can grind away a game with a big lead. Many of then are playing backup right now in the NFL, or are at least part of a tandem. The Ravens lead in the 2nd half of every game they played last year. Often with double digit leads. They had trouble wearing teams down and salting away games way too often last year. THe game against the Chiefs didnt provide the opportunity for Henry to do that. There will be plenty of chances going forward for him to do that. There will be games where he gets 15 2nd half carries. You cant say, Gus could have done that when Gus had trouble doing it last year.

Ravens: 30 carries a game not plan for Henry
https://www.espn.com...30-carries-game
46% of the offensive snaps - 6 fewer than Justice Hill.
13 carries.
Now this.
Y'all trashed me for saying it, but they're being very clear. He's in the Gus Edwards role. He was never going to be a focal point of the offense, and he changes very little, if anything, about the offensive identity if the team.

I agree. I also believe that if they wanted to go the FA route, Aaron Jones or Joe Mixon would have been better at basically everything this offense likes to do. He's a bad fit in a role that doesn't suit him.Nobody trashed you for saying he was in the Edwards role. You got trashed for saying he isn't better than Gus Edwards. Don't misrepresent your argument.
For what it's worth, I do agree that Henry isn't exactly the kind of guy you give 10-15 touches. He wears defenses down. His best carries are the 13th-20th carries. We saw it time and time again. He'd have 15 carries for 28 yards through 3 quarters. Then he'd finish with 25 carries for 120 yards.
If they were looking for efficiency, they could have went a different route and drafted a guy like Benson or Corum.
I also think Harbaugh is somewhat BSing too. I feel like they brought Henry in to be a closer and short yardage threat. I think we see games where Henry is north of 20 carries. I also think we see games like KC where he's south of 15.
I feel like getting Keaton Mitchell back at 100% is going to mean more to this offense than the Henry signing.

So what do you guys think about Derrick Henry this year?
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

I honestly don’t get it. Maybe I’m just dumb.
It’s Slide’s world, we’re all just living in it.

Is this true? I know it's the anecdote, but I've been wanting to verify the thinking with numbers but been unable to do so. Wouldn't surprise me if it's a bit overblown and Henry has still been plenty effective on his first 10 or 15 carries.

Without actually watching, I'd assume teams started out stuffing the box, and fresh defenders were ready in the first. And in the 4th they were running safe, dive type type of plays with limited potential to drain the clock.
I would say the 3rd quarter being his most efficient kind of aligns with him being a workhorse that wears defenses down.
Overall I get the point, I don't think it's impossible that Henry can break some runs early. And he will I'm sure. But, I think his best work comes in the second half, when teams are tired of tackling a 240 lbs monster.
Not to mention that the Titans OL was garbage last year. It's probably nothing short of a miracle Henry still rushed for over 1,000 yards. Hopefully, the Ravens OL will develop into a solid run, blocking unit and they can utilize Henry better than Tennessee did.

Any word on why Lamar missed practice yesterday?

General soreness. Sounds like not a big deal.
Ok, thanks.
