Yeah, who cares. They’re not a threat to anything. The definition of mediocrity. It would be nice if the Ravens could stop losing to those mouth breathers though.

Watching JK dominate for the Chargers. What could have been.

It's only one game.  Let's see if he can stay on the field.

Not a great week for the North. Bengals lose at home to a bad New England team. Cleveland and Watson embarrassed by Dallas. Pittsburgh had a FG game against a bad Atlanta team.

It's only one game.  Let's see if he can stay on the field.

If the pattern holds, he will be healthy all year.  He was healthy his rookie year, out for the season in the last preseason game of year 2.  Healthy all year 3, out for the season in game 1of year 4.  This is an odd year so he should be healthy all year.  lol

I said when the Chargers picked him up that if he can stay healthy, bit if, they may be getting the steal of FA.  While I wasn't a big fan of signing Henry, I understand why the Ravens felt like they couldn't trust Dobbins to be available.  My issue with Henry was I thought the money could be better spent on the oline.

If Dobbins can stay healthy, under Jim Harbaugh he can be right up there with the games rushing leaders.

You just hate to see Watson continue to be absolutely abysmal in Cleveland.

...And Baker Mayfield look good in Tampa.

Still sucks to see he officially lost that last gear. Still has the elite initial burst though. Both of those runs are easy TD's before all the injuries.

Dobbins will always be the story of what could have been. Elite vision and burst. Great power and balance. Great agility. Just couldn't stay healthy. Hopefully he's like Fred Taylor and can put it together and stay on the field through the backend of his career.

What could have been indeed. In that 2021 offense even Murray and Freeman had over 4 YPC. I thought he was going to do what Jonathan Taylor did that year.

Hope he stays healthy and gets to play a few more years.

BTW, Herbert was 17/26 for 144 yards, but they won. Seems familiar.

I hope Dobbins can stay healthy too.  Really seems unfair what has happened to him but such is the life of a NFL running back.  Roman will know how to utilize him the best so the Chargers were a good fit for him.  He just has to stay on the field.

Ravens: 30 carries a game not plan for Henry
https://www.espn.com...30-carries-game

46% of the offensive snaps - 6 fewer than Justice Hill.

13 carries.

Now this.

Y'all trashed me for saying it, but they're being very clear. He's in the Gus Edwards role. He was never going to be a focal point of the offense, and he changes very little, if anything, about the offensive identity if the team.

So what?

What about this is surprising?

Lamar is this offense. With Henry, it’s about efficiency. Not being Super Man. Come on man.

Since when has Henry ever been an efficient back? He's always been at his best when getting volume and wearing down a defense. They are using him in a way that is inherently inefficient, and doesn't make use of his strengths.

Literally nobody said 400, nor has he ever done that. Nobody even said 300.

For reference, the last time Henry was anything resembling efficient was 2020, when he averaged 5.4 ypc. Since then, it's been hovering in the neighborhood of 4.2 to 4.3.

I dont get it either. He doesnt have a point. Its also week 1. THis is one of those spots where Henry will likely be productive and then people will pile on slide deservedly because he is doing this. He will whine about being piled on and not being treated fairly.

No, I fully accept whatever comes my way when it comes to the Ravens. I know my judgement is heavily slanted, but I've been saying since his signing that this did basically nothing. It doesnt change the offense or make them more prepared to get over the hump. Hes a new guy with a sexier name playing the same role the last guy did.

He's going to have productive games - every decent starter does. But you don't get Henry for his efficiency. You get him to do what they refused to do in the playoffs, which was to hand the ball off and let him do work instead of relying on Lamar to throw it 50 times a game. Giving Derrick Henry - maybe the most perfect example of a volume back in modern NFL history - 13-15 touches a game is like throwing jump balls to Zay Flowers and expecting him to come down with them. It's a flagrant misuse of his skills, and doesn't add a new dimension to the offense.

If you're going to use him like that, what was the point of acquiring him in the first place? I'm sure he'll have a great game against the Raiders and everyone will feel great, but Harbs is literally telling us they aren't going to use him as anything different than they used Gus. Some "missing piece."

The Ravens lead in the 2nd half of every game they played last year. Often with double digit leads. They had trouble wearing teams down and salting away games way too often last year. THe game against the Chiefs didnt provide the opportunity for Henry to do that. There will be plenty of chances going forward for him to do that. There will be games where he gets 15 2nd half carries. You cant say, Gus could have done that when Gus had trouble doing it last year.
