Nothing finalized until it's finalized, but Olney, Rosenthal, etc all reporting the same thing.

I think people may be thinking you posted this thread in the O's Players section like each Orioles player has. But it's not in that section, yet. It's just in the general Baltimore Orioles talk thread. Makes sense to me. Most of the talk on him is over in the trade deadline thread though, perhaps those should be merged here. Or not, doesn't really matter to me. Things are quiet these days.

Can't hurt to add another quality arm to the pen. Still would like to see Wells as a back end arm. Kimbrel, Wells, Cano, Hall could be a nasty 7-9 combo.

Honestly, me either. I'm open to becoming one though, I guess. He could help. This signing could also fall flat. 

 

I think they have to try to get some experience. This team is too good not to. At the same time, this FO is seemingly really good at money balling the P staff. I hope they take a couple fliers too, that come cheap.

Hader is a different beast, though a route I'd have pursued.  Other than that, I have no complaints about them preferring Kimbrel to Hicks or Stephenson or Robertson.  Signing two of these types would be a good idea, IMO.  I think we have a lot of pumpkin potential in our returning RP corps, so would like to add more guys with experience to raise the floor a bit even at the risk of overcrowding or having to jettison someone without options.

I def like him more than Robertson. More than Hicks too tbh. This was a good target considering Hader was never gonna happen realistically. People just assume anyone can close games. Its a horrible assumption to make. Give the the guy whos done it over 400 times and showed last year he is still effective. You go to his savant page you see a lot of red.

I'd love a Kimbrel and Stephenson offseason. Probably more of a one or the other situation, though.

Kimbrel has the much better track record. Stephenson has the age advantage.

Totally fine with Kimbrel. He has "it". 

 

Jordan Hicks is not good for those of you wanting to go down that road. Seen enough Cards games in the past to know that. They also yo-yo'd him into a starter's role for a minute that went not good at all. Maybe he needed the change of scenery as his numbers have improved. 

 

But Kimbrel would be my top get given that Hader isn't fitting under the salary cap, like him more than Hicks, real small sample size for Stephenson in his role.

I like it. Not a terrible lot of money for a still quality back end arm. Like 2035 said - still plenty of red in his baseball savant.

Respectable signing. I don't love due to some concerning numbers as he's aging, but for reasons stated, he is likely a solid addition at closer, which is a need.
