Throw needed to be another fifteen feet longer (as well as straight) to even have a chance.

Tough play for A LHP. O'Hearn should've went to 2nd.
Looked like in the replay his play was to leg it out to 1B, but he started towards 2B which meant he had no shot at first.

Hyde being Hyde.
I understand wanting to rest Adley, but Hicks is hitting almost .500 since his return from the DL. Why ain't he in the lineup?

I think we'll see a lot guys getting days off down the stretch because of the lack of off days.

Means looks OK. Now let's go get some runs.
I think he looks great. Goldschmidt put a crazy swing on a ball above the zone and the second inning was limited to one run despite so much bad luck on soft contact.

I agree. I was being conservative.

Wainwright shut the Padres down two weeks ago (1 R in 6 IP), but other than that he's only had one start all season with fewer than 3 ER. Pretty brutal to not be bashing him around. Put up a big crooked number and make up for it.

Agreed. Feel like I’ve seen everything I’ve wanted to see from him tonight, all things considered. Only an 8% swinging strike %, but a ton of foul balls. In fact, foul balls account for the highest number of his strikes thrown today. So stuff not quite as crisp, which is to be expected at this juncture IMO. But veteranosity and pitching IQ on display from jump street.
