Flaherty's too unpredictable to be a reliable 4. Dude's a back of the rotation arm that you probably need to pair with a long arm in any meaningful game.

He's not good enough to be on this team next year. We were a little desperate to make a move at the deadline but this was not a good pickup by Elias.

Flaherty has no business being on a postseason roster, so yeah. There was nothing in his profile prior to trading for him to suggest he’d bounce back, and that has bore out. I wouldn’t give him another start this season. We’re trying to do something here. He’s hurting, not helping.

The Fenway Park scorer dropped an E5 on Gunnar on that play, and it was probably deserved, but that ball took a wicked hop. We've all seen some seriously hitter-favorable calls this year. Some downright hilarious. 

 

This one was the scorer's way of inching Tristan Casas to the ROY award.

He has a role - But you'd pair him with say, a Means or another long arm (if Means isn't going to get starting duty). Agree he shouldn't be on the PS pitching staff though.
