Mets batter basically dipped his elbow protector into that pitch. Not all umpires would've let him trot to first base.

He throws a lot of slop relative to today's pitchers and maybe that's what has the Oriole lineup a bit off balance.  You just don't face many of these guys anymore.

I think you’re right.  He knows how to pitch.  I also think he used to throw a little harder.

Yeah ump’s strike zone os helping for sure, but this is the type of pitcher that does baffle young hitters.
