Tripping the runner would be obstruction   Nobody on the defense can interfere on a batted ball.  Only baserunners interfere.  Exception is catcher's interference (bat hitting glove on a swing), which is inconsistent terminology.

I wonder what their season average is with RISP?  And where does it rank league wise?  It can't be very good. 

O;s average with RISP is .280. Third in the AL surprisingly enough.

? Interference would be if the catcher tripped the runner. I'm saying all the C has to do is sit his big fat butt out on the basepath and wait for the ball, so long as the ball is coming in on the track of the base path. That's what the rule Mackus just linked to implied.

The only catcher's interference I know of is when a hitter's bat makes contact with the mitt during a swing. Any runner being impeded by a fielder would fall under the obstruction rule.

I knew that but it seems like it's all or nothing. We're definitely not consistent on offense.

You'd like for him to be able to hit a single splitter, but that's Gausman's best pitch, and he put 3 of them right at the knees.
