Ugh. I dont want to be rational about Mateo though. I know his D and speed doesnt make up for the above but it just hurts

Pitchers adjusted to what he was doing and he never countered.  And then once you stop hitting, old habits start rearing their ugly head again.  It's truly a shame he can't at least hit .250 and draw the occasional walk because with his speed and defense, it would only benefit the team.

Ideally Mateo is your super utility bench guy whi can give you elite speed and defense at multiple positions. Probably more valuable in that role than as a trade piece.
