In a game down 14 runs, it isn’t Mr. Ejection, manager of the losing squad Aaron Boone. But Brandon Hyde.

Hyde has 12 career managerial ejections, Boone 33.

Go figure.

The O's pulling out the split after the week we've had really says something about the character of this team.

Keep your heads and get out of town on a high note

That inning is just another reason to hate the Yankees. They have always been a dick organization.

F___ the Yankees!

Brandon Hyde just set a MLB record.  His ejection marked the one with the largest lead in baseball history.

The previous, Jim Fregosi when his team was up 15 to 2.

Bazardo looks like he tips his pitches.

Good Guys win and it turns out the sky is not falling.  Nice comeback to get the split.

Did the 2005 team ever beat the Yankees by 13 runs?

Really good job fighting back in NY.

Split is big after the first 2.  Get the next series and head into the ASB in good shape.  Some choices coming.

Only 4 out.  The Rays are struggling.

Interesting. Of course, Earl once got tossed taking out the lineup card.

I don't think I've ever seen Yankee Stadium that empty before. Always nice to lay the wood on the Yankees; it's even better when it happens in their ballpark.

Nope but they did have 12-5 and 17-9 victories over the Yanks that year. ;)

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

What was he ejected for?  I hope it was balls and strikes because he's needed to get out there for weeks and bitch about it.

Bitching about balls and strikes, gets you an automatic ejection and IMO does no good, but last night he got thrown out for protesting being worned after the Yankees damn near hit O'Hearn in the head and then drilling Cowser.

Honestly, for me, it's disappointing to just get a split with the Yankees.

1) Their lineup isn't good.  Ask yourself which position you'd want to trade with them straight up for.  They've had 6 players in the lineup with an OPS under .700 and none over .800 for most of this series.  We wouldn't be happy with that level of performance, I don't know why the Yankees would like it.

2) They basically have 2 good players in Judge and Cole and we missed both of them in this series.  Their combined salary (76M) is a fair bit more than the Orioles whole salary, even with the Os deferred money.  That's not even considering Rodon hasn't thrown a pitch for them at 27M.

3) Throw in Stanton at 32M and you have 135M on the roster with little consequence to the Series.

4) The foundation of the team (even next years) is OK, but it's nothing to be intimidated by.  They certainly need better health, but they've bought into riskier profiles and that's the risk (Department of Redundancy Department).

5) Also speaks to the importance of Bullpen.  Although the Orioles have knocked them around some, they've been a top 10 (better) relief group.  Bullpen performance isn't perfectly correlated, but clearly matters as much as any aspect.

They are lumped in the 2nd/3rd WC spot so good for them and if they're healthy they can make some noise (certainly the potential to get more out of the roster) but it really speaks to how blah most rosters are right now.

Yankees come to Baltimore end of this month and then we are done with them.

O's wind up 4-3 at Yankee Stadium and we're 5-5 right now. Next series win is the Season win.
