It would be Oriole luck to have Cowser hurt again just as he's about to get called up.

 Who says he's about to get called up?  This team is extraordinarily slow to call guys to MLB.  Rodriguez should have been up like 2 months before he was last year, and then ended up getting hurt in the minors.

 

They won't even let Cowser play 9 full innings in the minors yet.  But he can play 8.  Guess that extra inning would have hurt his quad.

 

Elias said they were talking to Hicks before Mullins even went down.  Wouldn't shock me if Cowser isn't here until after the ASB.

He didn’t re-injure himself and wasn’t pulled to come to Baltimore. He was set to have 4 PA’s. Tuesday at the earliest but I doubt that too.

I honestly don't understand what parameters they use to determine when it is time to call up a player.  They seem very aggressive in promoting guys from the lower levels, but the exact opposite from AAA to Baltimore.

I think the parent team needs Cowser.  I cringe when I see guys like O'Hearn and Lester playing the outfield.  

I think the roster has been mismanaged the last month or so.

Povich though. We have to have a Povich talk Phelan. I was buying the hype for awhile. No more. I said a while back I was afraid I saw too much Hall. My fears are coming true. Dude indeed appears to be a headcase. No ability to stop the bleeding once it starts. Someone page mweb. We are officially taking him off the top 125 prospect list

Povich is good, not too worried about it. FIP and xFIP still excellent and this org has proven to be able to improve control, outside of DL.

I’m not so sure. He’s also at the stage where he could be working on things outside of results whereas Hall is in the “let’s see some results” stage.

I think with Hall they should simplify things.  Let him pitch out of the pen where he can limit his pitch mix and maybe try to overpower hitters for 2 to 3 inning outings.

The Orioles need BP help and maybe Hall can be that guy.

I have not renewed my MILB package for this year, so I have not seen Povich.  Does his stuff match up with Hall?

I thought that was exactly what they were doing with Hall. They said he was "deloading" and he's still starting but only pitching like 3 innings a start for the past month. Bob would know better though.

Correct. His back injury over the offseason didn’t allow him to lift so that’s apparently why his velo is down.

Povich doesn’t have the velo of Hall but his curveball is ridiculous and he has a 6 pitch mix.
