Bob what happened to Bassalo?
He wasn’t placed on the IL so must just be dinged up a little. Same with Bencosme.

Will be interesting to see when they promote him. Have to remember that yes despite the age he has so few professional ABs. Wouldnt surprise me if its not til 2nd half even if he continues to tear it up
Gotta get him to Norfolk soon. He's 24, and seemingly back physically, so get him up with his peers.

Gonna be quite a log jam in the OF soon... Mullins, Hays, Santander, Cowser, Kjerstad, Stowers.
Kjerstad has been playing a lot of first base.

I've noticed that. Could be the DH/1B/OF guy to spell just about everyone. Can't deny the power tool.

Its never the sexiest thing to talk about with minor league guys but Im curious some of the guys in the minors you guys think have the pure stuff to potentially be dominant high lev BP arms for the Os. Whether thats current RPs or starters who you think might have to transition in the future.

It would be for Gunnars PT. He shouldnt be in Baltimore to sit the bench. Gunnar is the first to sit between him Urias and Frazier. And I know everyone wants to throw Frazier to the side. Thats the easiest hypothetical move but even if we do put him to the side Urias should be starting every day right now. So it still comes down to Gunnar or Westburg.
Westburg needs to be in Baltimore.

That is becoming very obvious. This is not a knock at Frazier, but it seems Elias wasted 8 M of payroll in an organization that is very frugal. Frazier has been decent, but I wonder if we could have gotten more out of Westburg, Ortiz and Norby over the course of the year.
In fairness, he probably wanted a left handed hitter because the wall is death on right handed hitters, but 8 M could have been spent elsewhere.

Anything weird going on across all of AAA or AA this year stat-wise? Even for just a month, that's a lot of guys having really good numbers. Particularly at Norfolk which has historically suppressed offense.

Quick answer...a little bit in Norfolk, no in Bowie.
International League has a 784 OPS so far this year. Was 750 and 743 the past couple years.
Eastern League has a 697 OPS so far this year. Was 728 and 730 the past couple years.
