It is a pretty good list.  I wonder how long Holliday, Kjerstad and Mayo stay at the major league camp.  Hopefully at least until the first couple televised games.

Gotta love the depth we have. If just a few of them pan out the O's are poised to have a decent run. I would have said a very good run but after the FO performance over the winter I am less pumped. Still pumped just not to the level I thought I'd be.

Feels like most of the roster is sort of locked in.  As we get closer, you see more articles start to talk about the numbers game which was always there, but ignored until you get to this point.  26 is still 26, it doesn't get to perceive itself as 29.

 

The only place I still think there's room to play is the bench.  Discussed elsewhere, but Urias probably needs a starter opportunity.  Vavra seems like a poor fit for this roster and we should benefit from a speed guy on the bench that we don't have with Mateo a starter.

 

Would rather see guys like Jon Schoop and Bubba Thompson (vs Urias/McKenna) on the bench this year.

Os fans should be pumped. So much opportunity. Maybe it doesnt happen this year but this squad is on the come up hard. These young guys are studs. That was essentially my problem with grumpy people this offseason. I get not spending in FA sucked but it doesnt matter in a lot of ways. This team is all about the young core.

There is no doubt there. The hope is they are sold in the next few years. I pray Jon isnt Irsay and they move. Trying not to think about that too much. We can all say it was a way for ownership to be cheap, but the Elias hire and the commitment to improving the minor league structure and player development was a huge accomplishment. I dont know how much credit to give ownership and how much to give Elias put it cant be understated how much different it is than weve seen for most of our lives.

Yes the roster is pretty much locked in. This Det idea is fantasy land stuff. The only potential question on offense and I doubt its a real one since O Hearn and Lewin are not the 40 man is whether the Os want some LH pop on the bench. Unless a trade happens for that LH pop I think we are pretty locked into the expected starting 9 and a bench of McCann, Urias, Vavra, and McKenna. Vavra would be the 13th guy and optioned should they go with a LH bat.


On the pitching side the question is does GRod break camp on the roster. Hall wont. Otherwise we seemingly have 13. All of this is assuming no IL.
