Sounds like all bad news thus far.

At least we'll have Voth, Wells, and Givens arms for the pen to fill in.

Seems pretty off color to be discussing injuries on National Almond Day

It always sucks to have injuries before the first pitch is even thrown, but better now than in April.

Bautista and Tate are certainly ones to keep an eye on.

And the non-catching position players haven't even reported yet.

Only four games? It’s not even embarrassing. It’s just shameless.

MASN and the coverage of the Orioles is minor league.

The Angelos family doesn't seem to want to invest in anything that might create interest in the team.

They're a joke. A pathetic, shameful joke.

More in depth baseball futures out on DraftKings.

Os over/under: 76.5 at -120

Make the playoffs is +370

+850 to finish 2nd in the divsion

+425 to finish 3rd in the division

All potential plays for me. Already played the over 76.5

I put a few sheckles on the Birds to make the playoffs.

With the rate of cord-cutting combined with more carriers simply choosing not to carry RSN's and saddle their customers with the big fees, they better not get any more complacent than they already are. The Sinclair debacle should serve as a cautionary tale in thinking the current business model will last forever. But John Angelos is neither talented nor visionary....so he'll probably screw it up.

Only four spring games on MASN this year, and one of them they’re borrowing the Red Sox feed with the announcers in the Warehouse. Way to build up that fan momentum for the season, John.

https://theathletic....ing-broadcasts/

I was thinking, how many ST games do other teams broadcast? 4 is low, but maybe its not far off from standard.

No, it's low. YES network will carry 13 Yankees games, and NESN will carry 27 Red Sox games.

I didn't bother googling anymore after that.

I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere (maybe here) that Toronto is broadcasting all of their spring games. And they're owned by a media company, probably know what they're doing.

Could sort of not care less how many spring games other teams are broadcasting. This business wants you to buy in to their young players, while not even TRYING to win major league games for 4+ years. Maybe showcase those young players in spring training, azzholes...

If no one else was doing it, I’d say ok, I’d prefer more but that’s the industry standard, that’s fine. But that’s not at all the case.

Yeah it would appear a lot of teams just broadcast the home games. Not sure if NESN is sending a crew all around Florida, or are just picking up the home team's feed?

I would wager that. I would think some of those stadiums aren't able to accommodate television crews from two teams. Not sure what the blackout rules are on MLB.tv for ST, but maybe you can get some O's games via other teams network that way.

Why would they show the Orioles when they could play reruns of the 2004 World Series of Poker?

Especially when all the crew and announcers expect that they'll be paid for working. They have some nerve expecting John Angelos to write them a check. Some nerve.

I'm itching to create a post about preferred VPNs, but I'm sure that'll be frowned upon.
