This has seriously gotta be one of the worst jobs by a HP ump. Does that Twitter report card dude do all the games?
He does, and I guarantee you that call will be #1 for biggest impact on the game.

Can’t afford to just sacrifice this game. But this is Hall’s game at this point.
One of the main guys shoulda pitched the 9th. Tate or Perez. Its freaking Sept.

which is what his pitch values reflect so far on the advanced sites (extremely small SS). I think it’s also why he’s prone to walks as much as he is, a lot of foul pitches. Because of the velocity. But they are seeing the ball.
BTW Halls stuff isnt all that. Its a good fastball/change mix but no command and the breaking stuff looks pretty meh. But this narrative that its elite amazing stuff is just wrong

Hall is not ready yet. Won’t be until he can throw strikes.
See you get a few right now and then. Good job.

You have the OTV guys and they are linking stuff that backs it up so Im not really attacking them but this narrative that he has this amazing stuff that is already elite in MLB is just laughable

I don’t think you K 14.7/9 in AAA with meh stuff. Obviously the command has to be way better.

I know there are a few people here who I like who advocate for having the umps continue to call strikes but IM just throwing out a warning. Im going off when I see that post again. Its inexcusable to have that take when you can get it right. Or at least consistent for everyone. The difference in counts let alone strike 3s are way too important
I'm not a fan of the robo ump idea, but after watching this guy could much more easily be convinced. I mean he's been all over the place and was missing not even close ones. Cannot imagine we've seen worse this season.

No one said meh stuff but the narrative has been its elite stuff. If it were elite he could get away with just throwing it over the plate. Kinda like Bautista does. The command wouldnt matter much

Hyde got too cute. Keep it at 1 run and try to sctratch one out against their non closer in the 9th

This is the first time I’ve seen him pitch. Not basing an opinion on that. But yeah he wasn’t good today. I don’t care what your stuff is, if you have so little clue where it’s going that you’re hitting the backstop on the fly you aren’t getting people out.
