Stowers is probably out for the same reason as Mullins. Wacha much better vs lefties even though he's RHP. With Santander in RF, I'd expect to see Stowers in later innings if the O's have a lead.

No it doesn't. Switch hitters don't have any experience facing like-handed pitchers, so even if the splits don't support the switch it can be a personal choice to still bat opposite.

It was already announced that Ced is out due to injury, not due to reverse platooning with McKenna. Maybe it's easier to sit him today because of Wacha's numbers v LHB, but they still replaced him with a RHB so not sure about that.

Could've slid Hays to CF and Stowers in a corner instead of McKenna. Sacrifice some defense, but perhaps up some offense.

I missed that if it were the case. I think they were maybe just tired and not sure what else to say. Also was it Johnson last night or Roch? They sound kind of similar.
