Jays and Mariners win. NY beats TB

5 behind Sea

5.5 behind Tor

6 behind TB

THink we are gonna have to win 5 of 6 from Tor to have a real chance

Win today and then during this week you can make up big ground. Jays for 5 against TB is a tough week for them compared to O's playing two games vs Washington.

Would like to cut the lead to 4 before that series begins. More important is don't let it exceed 4 after the series is over, and closer obviously much better.

Agreed. Even when they don’t come from your own front office.

We will see how the guys respond today. Last night was a potential soul crushing defeat. Rebound today and we still have a shot. Get smoked again today and its party over.

This is the scoreboard thread for THIS season. So ROFL yourself bud. Do we need to rehash this again? I’m down if you are.

It’s not going to matter if the O’s take 6 of the remaining 6 from Toronto if they are 7 back of them this week.

I sincerely believe it is over.

Blue Jays lost today. 5 back right now with them due for 5 with TB while O's play 2 against Washington.

Really easy to see it being down to 3.5 by the time we start the series in Toronto on Friday.

Probably can't afford to lose any more ground, but going to one game backward this weekend isn't a nail in the coffin, or at least certainly not the final one.

Seriously? Really easy? We just lost 2 out of 3 at home to last place Boston and didn't hit the barn from inside it.

Yes. Go 2-0 versus Washington. TB wins 3 of 5 versus Toronto. Very easy.

Could even go 1-1 if TB goes 4-1. Or still go 2-0 and make up even more ground.

People are overrating inertia. Things can shift quickly.

How much do you want to wager that the O's win both in Washington? I mean we face Paolo Espino on Tuesday who hasn't won a game this year. We are going to think he's Scherzer......LOL

I don't want to wager anything. I'm not making predictions or saying these are the favored results, just pointing out reasonably likely outcomes. Making the playoffs has become much less likely over the past week, but still probable enough to be worth hoping for.

I hope I'm never in a desperate situation where I need some of your guys help.

Some of you guys.  Little girl is the only one with her head on.  Helps when you've been through something, I guess. You have to figure out how to not just survive, but thrive.

They don’t shift that quick. They made up zero ground from the trade deadline until the TOR series. At most they gained three games, and gave those back. Gave back another 2.

Bottom line is the Orioles are playing like crap. It’s not easy to erase a 1 game deficit, much less 5 when you play like they are. Or when you put out a lineup like they did today. Hyde manages one day like it’s a must win to stay in a playoff race, the next day like they are 30 games out, like he’s used to.

At least the Mariners are falling back too, so it’s not just on TOR to lose.

Ok, go ahead and give up. I don't think there is a prize for fastest to fold, but seeing how fast some people around here are doing so maybe I missed something and there is.

Judging by the attendance at the park since Labor Day afternoon, it’s not just some people here being realistic about their chances.
