I think we're going to have to beat both TBR and TOR if we want a shot.  Guardians and Mariners both have the luxury of feeding on bottom dwellers down the stretch.  The good news is, certainly against TOR we have plenty of opportunity.

Cleveland has had that luxury all season and they are behind the Orioles at the moment.

Toronto and Tampa both have tougher remaining schedules than the Orioles, though not by much.

Tampa is injured up and down that roster. Toronto - they just feel like they aren't as good as they should be, but maybe that's just me.

Either way, the players aren't scared. This is awesome.

When the O's had that long win streak, that put them in contention, I mentioned that I like that they're facing tough teams. They'll prove to themselves, and all of baseball, that they deserve to be in the post season.

Good news! I saw a dog today.

Yeah that SOS stuff is for us fans to worry about. The players don't really care and they're definitely not scared. This group has already proven they can play with anybody anyway.

My biggest concern is the bullpen holding up. We really need the starters to give us a lot of 6 inning games the rest of the way.

The players seem to cheerfully not give a F, and there is a great farm ready to augment them next year. You love to see it.

Cleveland won again today, they’re hot. Chicago lost game one of their doubleheader but is leading game 2. Tampa is trailing Milwaukee in the middle innings. Boston is tied up late. Seattle and New York again here in a couple minutes - Cole vs. Castillo, should be fun, and I’m staying up.

O’s game resumes at 10:25. Comeback would be cute, but we also need Tampa and Seattle to lose, either way.

After the O’s thrilling 6-5 Odor win over Toronto, they’re 2 games behind them, TB lost so they’re a half game behind them, and if Seattle loses tonight to the Yankees, they’ll be tied for the 3rd wild card spot with them.

Cole and Luis Castillo with a combined 10 innings of shutout baseball with 9 k’s.

Might as well stay up and watch the west coast returns roll in.

Yanks and Mariners are currently scoreless in the top of the eighth, but the Yankees have two on and just one out.

New York's rally fizzled, so it's still 0-0 heading into the bottom of the eighth.

8/9: Orioles win. Blue Jays lose. Mariners win. Rays lose. Guardnsia win.  Twins lose.  White Sox win & lose (DH).

O's 1/2 game back of Tampa for the 6th seed.  1 GB of Seattle for 5th seed.  2 GB of Toronto for 4th seed.  1/2 game head of Cle/Minn (tied).  2 games ahead of Chicago.

Red Sox are still alive but fading back.  Won't track them unless they go on a run.

With the Rays lost today the O's have tied them for the 3rd wildcard.

Also tied for third in the AL East. Thanks Milwaukee!

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Hes being serious folks

When you repeatedly said "there's nothing they can do to win"...what did you mean?

You wanted a current Oriole example.  2022.

You must not have any friends here, because someone, if you had one, would tell you to stop.

Which is fine and all. Root for whoever you want. Just stop with all the conspiracy and understand that just because you play a lot of OOTP Baseball it doesnt mean you can hold Elias and Mejdal's jocks
