I laid it out already. So dependant on velo and and just enough control. Losing a few ticks in either category would be big. Not to mention we know he just had a 2nd procedure

Relies on massive velocity and a nasty splitter.
Marginal control.
Two surgeries.
Not unreasonable to put his chances at returning to his previous form less than 50-50.

Can't see anyway he could be back. He relies almost totally on his power. Don't see how he could build his arm strength up by then and without that power he's not even close to being the same guy. He is not any kind of finesse pitcher.

Any chance we see him in September?
No and no-one should push for that.

Most optimistic outcome is he has a clean bill of health and is ready to go spring ‘25. Expecting anything sooner than that seems like wishful thinking.

I seriously doubt that. Let's hope Kimbrel keeps doing what he's doing.

I refuse to get myself excited about this possibility. Would have to be a less than 12 months return for him to do anything this year. I think we saw some rapid recoveries in the past but nothing like that recently. Should be able to hit the ground running on 2025 though.

He's probably already good enough to be like the 5th best guy in the bullpen.

$20 says he's on the roster in Sept.

You're on for a pitcher at the next happy hour.

Looks like I'll owe Mackus.

Curious as to what the point is to have him throw off a full mound at this point? Test how well the surgery and recovery are going?
