6’3”, 320 lbs., so some serious beef. Need more of that with the number of defensive linemen leaving after this season.

Unranked WR Ezekiel Avit (Potomac, MD) just committed to Maryland. They offered him in early September, and Gunter Brewer led his recruitment.

Michigan, LSU, and South Carolina seem to be the leaders for him right now, but Maryland has a legitimate shot with Locksley at the helm. Landing him would obviously be a massive coup.

Still think his breakaway speed would be better utilized at TE than an edge rusher, but edge rushers make more in the league, and I imagine that’s on his mind. I believe MD has an uphill battle, he seems really serious about the track side, and the SEC track programs and facilities are pretty incomparable.

While it’s unlikely he’ll be able to steal many recruits away from Maryland, it’s worth keeping an eye on. Expect the 49ers to be involved with many of the players coming out of Baltimore.

Longtime Gilman and St. Frances head coach Biff Poggi has been named the new head coach at Charlotte. He’s spent the last two years as Michigan’s associate head coach.

I like him recruiting for Charlotte more than I liked him recruiting for Michigan.

Well-written piece by Feldman. It'll be interesting to see if some of those "soft" skills translate when he's the head man.

Because of his deep connections with SFA, and his position as an off-field assistant, I don't think he was allowed to do any direct recruiting while at Michigan. Obviously every player at SFA knew who he was though, so he probably didn't need to have any contact to put Michigan on the short list for a lot of those kids.

Yeah, I don't think Blake Corum ended up there by accident.

Harbor was in attendance at the Ohio State game today with his parents.5-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor (Washington, DC) has scheduled an official visit to Maryland on December 9th.

Class is currently 47th Nationally... let's see where Locksley gets them on signing day.

At this point, you can probably expect Locksley will have the freshman class ranked Top 30 by Signing Day, with a handful of impact transfers. Harbor would obviously be a massive coup for the program, but there's plenty of talent still to be had. We'll likely know a lot more in the next week or two about how many openings he'll have to fill from graduations and players entering the portal.

Haven’t heard anything yet. But as always, be prepared to have a few losses you never saw coming (ala Robinson last year).
Zack - are you hearing any indications one way or the other about what we might lose via the portal?

Sounds like 5-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor and his family had an extremely successful official visit to Maryland over the weekend. They pulled out all the stops for him, and it doesn't seem nearly as far-fetched a possibility that he winds up in College Park than it did a few months ago.
Apparently LSU and USC are making a late push for him, joining Michigan and South Carolina.

Also worth noting that Harbor will take an official visit to Georgia this weekend, but won't sign anywhere until February 1st.
