Why?  ...I'm all for the kid, but Santander is standing in the spot he needs to be standing in.  Are we trading Santander? Santander to the IL?

 

Did Cowser get sent down? You can't really screw with Hays and Mullins and they've both been hitting lately although nobody is getting regular time other than Tony.

Maton was here for a few days longer than I expected, but he's useless once Westburg is healthy. Guess they wanted him a bit longer as depth to give Gunnar a day out of the field, but I'd have made this move as soon as Westburg returned. Expect it's brief until Stowers is eligible to return, they'll want Kjerstad everyday, but giving him a couple games on the big roster is nice fo everyone.

After Hays’ effort on Peňa’s two-run double yesterday, he’s closer to being benched in close & late situations. Cowser provides elite defense at all three OF positions. I get it. Cowser’s the 4th OF at this point considering the rope they’ve given Hays and Mullins. 

 

Not sure what Kjerstad is doing up unless there’s a trade in the works.

Kjerstad's promotion seems pretty clear cut to me.

Mahon was needed when Westburg got hurt so Stowers got demoted. Mahon is no longer needed. Stowers isn't eligible to return yet, so Kjerstad is the choice. He'll probably be sent down in a week or two and Stowers recalled if he doesn't get much playing time. If he hits well in limited time, then maybe he sticks around and eats into the time of Cowser, Hays and Mullins.

I think your right, but I don't like shuffling a good prospect up and down.  I hope if he is up a week, he gets to play.   Maybe he can make the Orioles keep him.

No thanks.  Why are you sitting either of those guys?  One or two days off a month, ok, but I'm not taking a start a week from those guys and giving it to Kjerstad.

I am not. The point is you mentioned only 3 of the guys in front of him. There just aren't enough at bats to go around.

Traded him for who?  He doesn't get you Skubal or Crochet and he's way too much to give up for Scott, Estevez, Snell, Fedde, or Flaherty.

Who does he replace? Cowser or Mullins in our vast LF? Santander and his 140 OPS+ or O’Hearn with his 130? OF/DH is just full, and like Mackus said if you traded him you’re probably not getting fair value. Santander is unlikely to be back, he’s penciled in to start next year IMO.

No issues here. He had struggled since returning from IL. I like the makeup of the roster the way it is now without him. Doesnt say anything about the long term plan. Hes generally had a good run so far. He will be traded or handed reg time in '25.
