Baseball Cards

The other thing to consider when it comes to grading is that collectors can be very odd.
In the coin world, for example, collectors will pay more for a graded gold coin. But that coin is really only worth the gold price and whatever premium is or isn’t attached to that particular coin at that particular time.
But collectors are weird. They like the slab, they like the grade, etc...
In other words, your grades item will bring more. It’s just the way these businesses work and it’s the way collectors are.
I have been dealing with collectors for over 30 years. I was one, my dad was one and I worked in an industry where I dealt with them often.

Also Pedro. You ever get enough for the Bowman box break. I got a guy interested.
I could prolly find 2-3 more. So that’s 4 max. You and your buddy is 6. Still need four more prolly if we are doing 10x3

Well I went and checked his profile again and my negative comment is gone.
He prolly reached out and lied to eBay
Well, he's now re-listed the same item! This time with a minimum bid of much less than what I paid (of course). I asked him to ship me that item or that I would be going to ebay with it.

Of course, the issue is, can you prove that it’s the exact same thing?

So this was the scene at the Walmart on rt. 43 today
That is 7 Bowman blaster boxes, opened. The packs inside opened, and the worthless base cards left behind.
Pray that the guy who went through the packs found nothing.

But I pulled two nice numbered cards in Topps series 2 at the same time as a bowman blaster that I’ll share once I get the pics uploaded.

I am striking out hard on Bowman. Probably opened six jumbo packs and two blaster boxes in total. No auto, no color, no numbers...

Yea it’s a struggle man. When you pull a parallel in Bowman though good chance you’re in on a winner.
I really want the Ripken SSP out of series 2. I shared it with SG on Facebook. It’s a gorgeous card.

That ones great. I really dig the McCutchen SSP as well.
Apparently Series 2 also has SSSPs. One is Bichette, Robert, Alvarez on the same card. Another is Robert without the name on the front, similar to the Frank Thomas rookie error card from 90’.

Damn, I wish I had enough money to blow 1.8 on a sports card.

Jorge Mateo, #/99. Was part of the Sonny Gray trade to the Yankees, Oakland just traded him to SD for PTBNL. 25 year old minor leaguer.

Finally got a color out of Bowman. Too bad the player sucks.

I have a few of his cards. Funny story, I was watching some of the Braves Marlins game today and a guy on the Marlins got a hit. I thought “hmmm that name sounds familiar.” Turns out I pulled his auto a while back. Go that guy!

I think of everything I've pulled from Bowman, I need to root for Nico Horner. I have about 4 of his chrome RCs, the insert ones. I probably could have bought 3 base Jasson's off ebay by now instead of having a stack of fire starters.

Here was one of my pulls from series 2 last week. #/25 is the best # I've gotten yet. Chris Sale version of this goes for $50 on ebay. Love that the pinstripe is in the relic. Gotten a few relics where it's just plain. Corners came a touch dinged though. I feel like it's tough with these kind of cards. It's about seven regular cards thick so it gotta be tougher to get a clean cut.

I also pulled a Johnny Bench insert that was #/50. Card is kinda, meh, but I'll take a number anytime.
Today got a Brendan Rodgers draft day relic that was #/50. I got the exact same thing before in Lindor, but the Lindor one isn't numbered. The Rodgers one doesn't look any different, not gold, or colored, or anything fancy. Someone has one listed on ebay for $50. But there is the same card #/10 and autographed thats only $11.50. So probably not anything to get excited about.
Series 2 has been legit with the numbered inserts. It's nice cause the base set sucks other than Robert.
