Got lucky today on the topps website and scooped up a hobby box of 2020 Topps Chrome for retail.  Now to decide whether to turn and sell it or rip it.

Selling would prolly only net me $50 profit or so -- think I'll rip it and pray for some Luis Robert mojo.

The rarest Mike Trout card will probably sell for north of $1.5M

I don’t know if you guys know who Vegas Dave is, but he’s a lucky guy and a giant prick. Scored big on some long shots like a futures bet the Royals winning the WS. Anyway, he sells subscriptions to his picks for like $500 a week and addicts eat that up. He can now gamble with other people’s money and is rich AF.

Anyway, he’s the owner and bought the card a couple years ago for $400K.

I don't know anything about Gypsy Queen, but bought a pack as it was literally the only pack on the shelf at Wal-Mart.

For Sale! $20. HMU. It's a bargain for the best player in baseball.

Did you rip it yet?

I wasn't impressed with the haul that I saw on some videos of jumbo boxes. 5 autos, and one video 2 of the 5 Travis Lakins. WTF is that?

I bought two blaster boxes at my local shop. Suprised that I hit an auto in each. Both rookie pitchers. Jonathan Hernandez and Adbert Alzolay. Seems to be a trend.

I'm just gonna see if I can buy low on some rare cards on ebay. You can score a few autos of guys you want, maybe #/ parallels, for the same price as a jumbo box of 99% crap.

The card sold for just about $3.9M. Now the most expensive card ever, surpassing the long standing champ, the Honus Wagner T206.

I'm not sure if this has been talked about or not in this thread, but the story surrounding this card is that only one card was made. Forced scarcity. That makes it lame.

Yeah. It keeps people buying a ton of boxes, like playing the lotto. There is only one of those. There is also the same card but in a #/5 edition, #/25 edition, #/50, #/99..., where the only difference is the color on the border.

The #/5 version sold a couple months back for $900k. Soon after a LeBron rookie went for $1.3M. Now this at $3.9M.

If they didn’t sell numbered inserts people would buy three or four boxes, complete the base set, and call it a a day.

I compiled the complete set of Topps Series 1 and 2. Recently put the 700 card set on ebay for $75 given other listings had it as low as $60 or as high as $90.

It sold immediately and now I wonder if I undervalued it given the rookies. Robert, Lewis, Bichette...

All of a sudden Robert base Topps series 2 card is going for $30+ alone.

Well, Bobby Witt Jr. went to PSA today, maybe I'll get it back for Christmas. While I was at the post office that I drive out of my way to in order to go to because there is a hobby shop next door, I go in the hobby shop.

Here is a two pulls I like...

1st, Lets go O's!!

2nd. Topps Chrome Gavin Lux RC in Blue foil. Along side the base chrome RC. Love the blue foil for a dodgers player. When the foil matches the team, so sweet. I got a purple foil Indians one a few trips ago and...not great.

Blue foil is #/150

IWIUMPo.jpg

But thats not all. Its numbered 148/150. And the card is #148 in the set!!! In a roundabout way, it's kind of a 1/1. No other blue foil out there matches the card number.

RZqRD8Z.jpg

Or maybe it doesn't mean anything. I think it's pretty cool.
