I'm totally good with Henderson. Someone tell me where we project him to play and a marginally conservative path (date) to the Majors and let's make a plan for that until then.

3B eventually but they’ll give him every opportunity to stick at SS. I would think he moves up to Aberdeen in another month, starts 2022 in Bowie, and makes his major league debut in May/June 2023 if all goes well.

3-5 with a double and a triple last night.

This is the guy who should be moved up ASAP...

Finally got his first Aberdeen hit. 1 for 21 start. Not ideal but at least he's been taking walks. .364 OBP.

He's waking up...

3-4 tonight with his first career multi-homer game.

8-16 with two doubles and three homeruns so far this week.

Keith Law on Henderson after seeing him in person.

• Gunnar Henderson, the Orioles’ second-round pick in 2019, played third base in the same game, and like Westburg was promoted to High A after dominating Low A to start the year. Henderson has struggled with Aberdeen, however, hitting .208/.326/.354 with a 31 percent strikeout rate for the Ironbirds. He’s certainly patient, drawing a pair of walks and showing solid ball-strike recognition in the game I watched but seemed to have trouble with non-fastballs in or near the zone.

Not very flattering. But still think he's a stud.

I have little time for Keith Law, in fact, I don't even bother reading his stuff, unless it is posted here, but I mentioned earlier that Gunnar seems to struggle against breaking stuff.  Important to keep in mind, he is very young.

After a good July, sputtering badly in August. Hopefully he can turn it around a bit to end the year and push his OPS back above .700.

I keep reminding myself how young he is.  After watching him a number of times, I am concerned.

Heating up again.

If it makes you feel any better Marco Luciano, the #6 prospect in baseball, is only a couple months younger than Henderson and is struggling even worse since moving up to high A after putting up similar numbers to Gunnar in low A.

I really think the jump from low to high A is bigger this year.

On cue. 8 game hitting streak and hits 11 in of his last 12 games. Not showing a ton of pop but I wonder how much of that is Ripken Stadium being Death Valley for lefties

The Oriole minor league parks seem tough on the hitters.

The problem will end for the hitters if they get to  Camden Yards.

The inverse certainly seems to be true for the pitching.

Yep. As always, they all count, but if you take out the first 11 games with the 1-31 start, he's at .259/.349/.463 a 118 wRC+. You'd like the average to be a bit better but an .812 OPS is just fine.

One week left in the season, then perhaps playoffs.  Interesting promotion.  I wonder if he'll play much.

Bowie in a 3-way race for 2 playoff spots.  They are currently a game out and two behind the top team, but the other two teams play each other for the final week.

I guess they would like to get Henderson exposed to a play off type pressure.

Aggressive promotions. L8ke it. Theyre definitely gearing up to get better at the ML level in the next year or so. At least internally. How the kids play once they get to the show and how much they supplement from outside the organization is obvioulsy the big questions
