Deemed the most valuable trade chip in baseball by Fangraphs (not that they'll actually trade him, just a fun exercise they do based on the player's talent and contract situation)

4th in MVP voting, just behind Soto and ahead of Ramirez.

Unless its very mild we are looking at him being out the rest of ST at minimum. The worst guy to lose

I understand the worry, but I don't see any reason to jump to these scenarios.
Have to wait until we have actual information.
If he has an oblique injury, yeah, that wouldn't be good.
Right now the news is he had discomfort... which is of course going to remove him from a meaningless game.
They'll be super precautionary.
See how he feels tomorrow, and in a couple of days.
Fingers crossed obviously.

Lol, I don't think discomfort is gonna keep him out til May. Lets at least see if anyone suggests its more than a ST level precaution before panicking, please.
Or let's just shoot him, I guess. Might be faster.

Not March 3. They want us to believe everything is alright. Real test will be once he tries goes 100% again.
May or March 3, whichever comes first.

If they really thought it was an oblique strain what would they have to gain by making believe it’s nothing and having him come back too soon and making it worse?
Of course, we’ll all feel better when he’s back to normal, playing at 100%.

Balt Sun:
Shortstop Gunnar Henderson’s status for opening day is uncertain after he was diagnosed with a “very mild” intercostal strain in his ribs, manager Brandon Hyde said after the Orioles' Grapefruit League game Wednesday. “He's feeling a lot better, but we're just going to obviously slow-play it a little bit and make sure that he is 100%,” Hyde said. “But he's getting a lot better every single day.” Read more: https://bit.ly/3Dta8hp

I don't like the way that first sentence was worded. Doesn't feel to me like his status is at all in doubt. How much ST action he'll see before Opening Day is a question mark for me, but regular season availability is not.
