Spotrac

The pitch clock has changed baseball. But nothing can change Shohei Ohtani's run support.

That should change with roboumps.

Everyone will know exactly where the strike zone is. I think there will be an uptick in walks to start. But then pitchers won't be able to get away with nibbling, when they start attacking the zone, hitters will swing more.

Hopefully, the Players Association kills this latest and lamest rule change. It will be a bridge too far for me. The game has been bastardized to the limit for me. ( ghost runners, three batter minimum, dictating how many pitchers are in a roster, etc ) I'll watch very little baseball if this happens.

Manfred has crapped all over what was once a beautiful game. He's worse than Selig.

Lol

This might be the dumbest idea in the history of mankind.

I like the idea of having a starting pitcher go 6. Wish it wasn't a rule, wish it was just a thing. I hate that 180 innings is a workhorse now.

Games would certainly be quicker. And fans are always clamoring for more strikeouts aren’t they?

This may be old news, but I just heard about the Golden At-Bat rule:

"At its core, the Golden At-Bat idea is to allow a team one opportunity to call upon a hitter who is in the lineup but not due for the upcoming at-bat. It’d be somewhat akin to pinch-hitting with a player who is already in the game. As Stark notes, the rule could be narrowed to limit when teams could use the Golden At-Bat (e.g. after a certain inning, only when they’re trailing, etc.)"

Good news! I saw a dog today.

I'm fine with all the new stuff.... pitch clock, minimum batter rule, even pick off attempts and reluctantly the ghost runner. But a golden AB? No.
