This is Testudo Times' article on the Papuchis and Robinson hirings. Burried at the very bottom is apparently the news that it's looking good that they will be bringing on Elijah Brooks (to coach RBs I assume).

IMS: Locksley Reaches Into Local High School for RBs Coach

Locksley has officially hired Elijah Brooks (DeMatha HS head coach) as his running backs coach.

Rumors have it that former Maryland CB Josh Wilson will be taking over for Brooks at DeMatha, which would set up quite the DeMatha-to-UMD pipeline.

Brett Seither (3-star 2019 TE) posted a picture with Dave Mencarini last night on a recruiting visit. Hopefully a good sign Locksley is keeping him on staff.

Cavanaugh was on 105.7 last night, said no more than 1 current staffer staying on. Didn't mention who.

Saw that....if I'm not mistaken,I think off-campus recruiting is limited to just the on-field coaching staff. If so, that must mean Mencarini is getting a different position.

Azaar is going to UMass to be their DC. He'll be working for Walt Bell.

Not a terrible loss recruiting-wise, as he's unlikely to poach players to UMass that UM really wants. The loss will be felt in that he was a great DB coach.

Beat me to it. Obviously a big loss, he was the best recruiter on staff. Silver lining is that he went to UMass, not some blue-blood Power 5 school. I know I heard rumors Saban was targeting him, not sure how much truth there was to them.

I can't find the thread, or an article online anywhere, but didn't someone mention a former Maryland player was taking over for Brooks at DeMatha?

Josh Wilson I think, former CB.

Yep, that was the rumor. He's the co-defensive coordinator there already, so would make sense.

Doesn't look like we'll be making any notable additions to this thread anytime soon.

I'm starting to get worried that Locksley will get a better job offer.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.   I think he truly covets the Maryland coaching job.

Bama Insider: Alabama's Josh Gattis to join Mike Locksley's staff at Maryland

Locksley has found his offensive coordinator, and he's a damn good one. Excellent hire.

Good hire..... and have to think the combo of Gattis and Locksley make Maryland one of the front runners to get Jalen Hurts.

Just heard Hurts will be visiting Maryland this weekend.

It seems like a natural fit at this point.   Same offense, probably same terminology.

Like the Gattis hire.

Still think MD makes no sense for Hurts, despite the relationships with coaches. He has one last shot to play for a title and get some good film for NFL teams. Since there are certain to be nationally prominent programs interested in him, why pick a school where he'd be more likely to tear his ACL than make a bowl game?
