Nickle pulling a Trea and relying on that SSS!
It's not even a bad small sample. He had a weird first start where he had 4 BB, 8 H, and only 1 K in 5 IP (but still only gave up 3 runs). But even with that, he's still had a solid line over his 3 appearances: 16 IP, 5 R, 16 H, 5 BB, 9 K, 1 HR.
If his velocity has been down, that'd be a big concern. He's not a guy that dominates with velocity, but any loss of velocity, for any pitcher anywhere, is a big concern.

1). His guy saw 1 start..so yes, that’s a terrible sample.
2). Even if it was the sample you discussed, that’s still a terrible sample.
3). If the velocity is down, that only matters if it is over a long term period..not just a few starts.

Schoop hit a homer last night, so maybe we got robbed after all.

Villar is 0-3 today with 2 strikeouts, and he was picked off first base. Man, we got fleeced even worse!
LOL, yeah Villar is settling in to his norm. Around a .260 hitter . Brewer fans seemed to think he made a lot of bonehead plays. The pick off is one for sure.

Up to 3.0 rWAR for the season in only 438 PA's (398 AB's).

I guess he's the early favorite for Most Valuable Oriole 2019. How's his defense at SS?

I think it's gonna be Mancini. Fun (in a way) topic of conversation.

Metrics are mixed from mediocre (DRS) to pretty bad (UZR) at SS. Second base is a lot tighter. To me, I think he'd clearly be better at second base. I guess it depends on what they cone with next year to complement him. Villar at SS and Valera at second would be a petty terrible plan imo.

Yeah, but when compared to Beckham at SS he looks like an AS.
*wink

Batting wise, Villar is still blowing away Schoop. Really solid bat with good OBP.

I really think he’s a better option than Beckham to play SS, but then who plays 2B? Valera is not anything more than filler, UTIF if you squint real hard.

Villar has some swelling in right pinkie finger after being spiked on dive into 2nd. That’s why he came out. Would have stayed in during real game
