I didn't watch them play all year but I watched that game and came away surprised at the lack of athleticism they showed. Not sure how they only lost 2 games. Btw as great of a program as Fresse has built they haven't been past the S16 since '15
Caught most of the second half. They retook the lead and were up 4 with the ball, I feel like one more bucket could have put the game away. Kudos to Texas for grinding it out.
I don't know how many times the Lady Terps had the ball near the perimeter and tried to force a pass inside only for it to be deflected and/or broken up.

Maryland has been upset in four of the past five tournaments:2016: 2-seed, lost to 7-seed Washington in the Round of 32'17: 3-seed, lost to 10-seed Oregon in the Sweet 16'19: 3-seed, lost to 6-seed UCLA in the Round of 32'21: 2-seed, lost to 6-seed Texas in the Sweet 16
I dont think rankings play too much when you are playing Round of 32 or Sweet 16. Its not normally smoke and mirrors to get there, the teams playing usually have earned that right.
It sucks they didnt go further. But, dang, getting 2 round of 32 and 2 sweet 16 is worthy accomplishment and I tip my hat to the Lady Terps. Thats pretty solid in my book.

For those who thought only revenue sports athletes would benefit from the new NIL rules, Ashley Owusu apparently has a deal with YOKE Gaming via Instagram. (per Testudo Times)

I'm interested to see how much market size starts driving recruiting. Do big market but historically second tier programs like St. John's now see a big uptick in ability to get top talent since they have so many corporations who might want to sign a player and offer them endorsements and maybe not as easy to get players to historically huge universities that are in smaller markets like Kansas or North Carolina.
UCLA might be the best position of anybody as the strongest combination of program history and huge market.

Since so many of these deals are tied to social media platforms (at least among the UM ones we know about) I would imagine that your following and post engagement are the two most important factors in what you can make. But when it comes to the more traditional licensing deals, I think the overall visibility of the program you play for is what matters most. Tuscaloosa, Alabama is not exactly a big market, but if you're the Tide's star QB, you'll probably be a hot commodity, whether it's a nationally-known brand endorsement or an autograph signing session at a local car dealership.

Lady Terps just flamed out against IU in the Big Ten Tourney. Trailing by 9 at the half they had cut it to 4 late in the 3rd quarter. They had the ball for the last shot, a basket there would have got it to 2 going into the 4th, instead a turnover on the drive lead to a 2 the other way and they found theirselves down by 6 instead. From there it was all down hill.
