Glad 2 loss Georgia didn’t make it. Every game still matters. Regular seasons and conference championships are still relevant.

Alabama and Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, so as not to be closer to Oklahoma in Dallas.
Clemson and Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl.

When ESPN flashed the metrics, Georgia had the slightest of edges over Oklahoma in the ones that matter. Is there much of a difference between 2nd and 3rd Strength of record? If Oklahoma played like the 20th SOR, ok, sure.

When all the metrics differences are razor thin, go with the team with the conference title, which is appetantly the first box the committee checks off according to what they mentioned on the show.

Conference titles mean nothing anymore imo.

I want the 4 best teams. UGA is better than OU..of course, both are better than ND.

Semi finals are the Orange and Cotton Bowls. If conferences that typically play these bowls holds up, (1) Alabama vs. (4) Oklahoma in the Cotton and (2) Clemson vs. (3) Notre Dame in the Orange make sense.

Ohio State vs. Washington in the Rose Bowl
Georgia vs. Penn State in the Sugar Bowl
LSU vs. UCF in the Fiesta Bowl
Florida vs. Michigan in the Peach Bowl

From the other thread. I was close, didn’t see Texas getting a NY6 game. They play UGA. Had the rest right. Flip the game for the semis.

39 bowls. 40 is the title game.

Army/Navy next week.

Miami Ohio, UL-Lafayette, UL-Monroe, Wyoming, Liberty, Southern Miss were bowl eligible, not selected.

Clearly we need 3 more bowl games :)

Even though I can get on board with Georgia being the better team than Oklahoma (and ND for that matter), I'm just as fine with them being out as I would have been if they were in. They knew going in to yesterday's game that for all intents and purposes that was the start of the Playoff for them....it was very likely going to be win or go home.

I agree. A case can be made for or against 3 teams to be the 4th team.

Georgia should be in.

I'd be with you if they didn't have a 20 point loss on their resume.
