10-3 Washington early in the 4th.

Only TD on a pick 6 that was a gift compliments of a wide receiver, dropping then kicking up into the hands of a DB who went 80 yards.

Oklahoma gets stuffed at the goal line, has to settle for a FG.

OMG. Georgia is trying to John Harbaugh the title away. Tied at 28 and a fake punt at midfield to give Bama 3 minutes to gain about 20 yards to win. Idiots.

And its Jalen Hurts leading Bama to a chance to win. QB draw for the score. 35-28, 1:05 to play.

I think the playoff is set, IMO. Bama, Oklahoma, Notre Dame in. Even with a Clemson loss I think they are in. I don't think Ohio State moves in with Oklahoma winning earlier. I can't see Clemson losing and falling from 2 to out, but Georgia losing and staying put at 4, or the committee wanting to put Bama/Georgia as a semi-final having just played. Georgia has to be 5 or lower, and Clemson I don't think drops past 4 with a loss.

If Clemson wins there is no chaos. Just a matter of where they decide to assign the 3 and 4 seeds between OK/ND.

With Clemson comfortably ahead, the Playoff field should be set.

1. Alabama

2. Clemson

3. Notre Dame

4. Oklahoma

Herbstreit had Georgia at #4 just now. I have to admit, I was really tempted to do the same thing. And I wouldn't be at all surprised or upset if the committee does it also.

The four teams in my top four haven't changed in seven weeks. Other than when I flip flopped Clemson and Bama when Bama decided to play Citadel. Still think Clemson could win a meeting with Bama outright, but Bama beating UGA today and Clemson meeting Pitt, well, they take back the top spot.

I'll be pissed if the committee puts UGA in. A two-loss conference loser over two, one-loss conference winners.

Herbstriet has UGA MOVING UP to three, after losing from the four spot. Cause they led the Bama game for 59 minutes. Which means they choked it away, to Jalen Hurts. And they totally did. Alabama or not, they choked, and that matters just as much.

8. Washington

Sorry about the Washington State blunder last week.

So tempted to put Georgia in there just because I want to see a rematch for my own guilty pleasure. I'm taking OU at 4, but my gut tells me OSU gets in.

I feel like more than a few analysts I’ve seen are putting in Ohio St over Oklahoma. Ohio St lost to Purdue while Oklahomas loss was in a Texas rivalry game. And they played again and beat Texas. Texas clearly better than Purdue. Both have bad defenses and explosive offenses. Respect both for playing all D-1 schools. By a narrow margin I think it should be Oklahoma.

Honestly would be ok if they put in both, Oklahoma and Ohio St., left out Georgia and ND. Really emphasize winning your conference. Notre Dame had a bye week. Didn’t have to risk their playoff chance yesterday. Kind of BS. But Alabama essentially had a bye playing The Citadel. Clemson did scheduling Furman. Georgia did scheduling Austin Peay. Oklahoma and Ohio State player a real 13 games. Huge difference in playing FAU, or Tulane, rather than playing Citadel, Furman, Austin Peay.

Umadbro?

Ha. No. I think it sets a bad precenedent if the overrated SEC keeps getting two teams in while other conference winners with a better record than Georgia are left out.

Besides, scoring margin isn’t supposed to count in the new selection committee. One of the major flaws of the BCS format. So Georgia covered the spread against Bama. Big deal. Doesn’t matter. They lost.

It makes no sense to move them, or anyone up a spot in the rankings as Herbie wants to after losing a game when others won.

The 4 will be Bama, Clemson, ND and OU.

The 4 should be Bama, Clemson, ND, UGA.

ND will be in and I guess they deserve it but I would take UGA, OU and OSU over them.

This is how I think the committee will rank them:

Bama
Clemson
ND
OU
OSU
UGA
UCF
Michigan
LSU
Washington
Penn St
Florida

ESPN gives something like 75% chance to Ohio State, 20% to Oklahoma, and 5% to Georgia.

Semi finals are the Orange and Cotton Bowls. If conferences that typically play these bowls holds up, (1) Alabama vs. (4) Oklahoma in the Cotton and (2) Clemson vs. (3) Notre Dame in the Orange make sense.

Ohio State vs. Washington in the Rose Bowl
Georgia vs. Penn State in the Sugar Bowl
LSU vs. UCF in the Fiesta Bowl
Florida vs. Michigan in the Peach Bowl
