I am hoping this is just a part of being cautious and maybe limiting the innings, but Seeing Hall and Kjerstad having these issues is concerning.

Sounds like he's going to be out for more than a month, so it's probably more than trying to limit his innings.

I believe he missed the end of 2019 for something similar. Hopefully it’s manageable.

That is real disappointing.

Hopefully he is back before the end of the season.

It's to be expected. Either him or Rodriguez or both will probably TJS before they ever see Baltimore.

DL Hall was going to ramp up throwing program, but further testing revealed stress reaction in bone in left elbow so will need more rest. Not expected to pitch again this season. #orioles

That sucks.  But could be worse.  Delays his ascension though.

Ugh.  What the hell is a stress reaction? Don't think I've heard that term in this context before.

Basically a stress fracture from what I understand.

IMO, this is a real setback. It will be 2 years now, that Hall has not pitched much.

He doesn’t need to be on the 40 for protection from rule 5 cuz he’s hurt right?

He has to be added. No 60 day DL in the off-season.

Hmmm well was he added? Doesn’t appear he was.

DL Hall resumes throwing: It was late morning on Wednesday when O’s pitching prospect DL Hall tweeted, “Today is the day.” A few hours later it became clear what he was referring to. He resumed throwing. Hall was shut down early in the 2021 season with an elbow issue, but he continues on the road back.

He made seven starts in 2021 for Double-A Bowie, going 2-0 with a 3.13 ERA. Over 31 2/3 innings he allowed 16 hits with 16 walks to 56 strikeouts. His last start for the Baysox was June 12. Hall is ranked as the No. 43 prospect in baseball by Baseball America and is at No. 72 on the MLBPipeline.com top 100.

Yes, he threw a lot fewer innings last season than Grayson Rodriguez, but Hall had an edge in strikeouts per nine at 15.92 to 14.07. His K percentage was 43.8 to 40.5 for Rodriguez. In batting average against, Rodriguez was at .159 and Hall was at .145. Strong stuff.

Good news!  Given the lack of innings over the last 2 years and his health concerns, I imagine his ceiling for next season is somewhere between 80 and 100 innings, max.
