Browns bounced by Phins 23-10.
It's good to hear the Browns appear still have some of the same issues as before. It also means the AFC North all went 0-1.
Do Over.

I'm not sure Weeden is the guy. With Richardson, Josh Gordon, and an emerging Jordan Cameron, he's got some talent to work with. Just seems like the epitome of average at best to me.

Jim Irsay announces Browns traded running back Trent Richardson to Colts for 2014 first-round draft pick

Tanking for Johnny Football.

Wow.
Richardson should be thrilled about this. Gets to go from Weeden/Back-up to Luck.
I'm not sure the Colts didn't over pay though.

Or Bridgewater.
This could be a good move. I'm not sure I love selling a top-notch (young) RB, but if you love a franchise QB, you have to go get him in this day and age. I do love this trade for the Colts.
I had Indy struggling this season, so theoretically, the Browns could have 2 Top 10 or Top 15 picks in 2014.

Great move by Lombardi. You are nothing without a franchise QB and Richardson isn't going to help you get there.

BTW, Bobby Rainey is Cleveland's starting RB now.
Actually, they are signing McGahee, so he may not be. At least past a week or two.

Holy shit. Would never have seen this coming.
How much did Cleveland pay to move up from #4 to #3 to draft him a few years ago?
Posted 18 September 2013 - 05:32 PM
Wow, huge deal!
Could be a great move for both teams ultimately. You have to figure that without a franchise QB, but still some nice pieces, the Browns were destined to be good enough to win some games (not enough), not bad enough to land a top QB.
And the Colts get to pair one of the best running backs with one of the best young quarterbacks. Wow.

Biggest winners in this trade? CIN who still plays CLE twice on the road to the playoffs and BAL who get them one more time.

Depends on if this helps Indy claim a WC spot. I didn't think they would this year, but they might now.

I don't think he's going as high as you think he is.

I think trading him makes sense for the Browns. I just think they probably should've been able to get more than likely a late-teens 1st round pick for him. He was a top-3 pick a year ago and hasn't been a bust or anything, even if he's disappointed some expectations.

Wasn't really serious, I'm not a big fan. Making the point they want a franchise QB bad.
