Going to be interesting to see if Schiano lands a job after this.

I didn't really think he was a hot candidate for a job before. This certainly won't help. Wouldn't surprise me if Schiano himself was part of the change of heart....if I were him I certainly wouldn't want my family exposed to that kind of toxicity.

Agreed, he's made plenty of money. Why should he?

So apparently what the Tennessee folk are using as a façade for their disappointment with Schiano is third-hand, never substantiated speculation that he may have had knowledge of something Jerry Sandusky did while Schiano was a young assistant at Penn State.

Man, I thought the way Bama fans treated Bill Curry was terrible (it turned me into an Auburn fan)... but this takes the cake...

You should’ve seen it unfolding in real time. I had friends (smart people, not rednecks at all) who were sharing the AD’s contact info on Facebook imploring people to fill up his phone and email.

If Jon Gruden had these flimsy charges against him, would the fan base want him?

Oh yeah, they’d rationalize it away for Gruden.

ESPN: Why the craziest coaching carousel day ever is just the beginning

If Fisher ends up going to Texas A&M, then that triggers even more dominoes. FSU is a good enough job that I'm sure a lot of current Power 5 coaches would be interested in. I think it's a mixed blessing for FSU that they are making up that game against UL-Monroe this weekend. On one hand, they get a very good shot at bowl eligibility. But it also seems to be what is holding up a decision by Fisher, and if he does go then FSU might miss out on some candidates that they otherwise would have had a shot at if they had an earlier start. Still, I think they should be able to do well if they are just patient.

Bruce Feldman reporting that Tennessee is targeting Tee Martin. They're now focusing on coaches with Tennessee ties due to yesterday's debacle. David Cutcliffe is probably a possibility as well.

Surprised Martin's name didn't come up sooner. I guess much like Frost with Nebraska 3 years ago, the knock on Tee is the lack of head coaching experience.

I have a lot of respect for Tee Martin, but I think he should prove his head coaching abilities at a level below the SEC.

But at this point, we can’t be picky.

It was good to see Tee up in the coach's booth a little while ago... I have zip idea what he's like as a coach, but it sure was fun to watch him play....

Brett McMurphy reporting that Mike Gundy will meet with Tennessee. He turned down the job in 2012.

Why would he leave his alma mater to go there?

SEC lure really gets to people.

I would think OK St could come up with the money if they needed to.

Report out of Stillwater is that Tennessee can double his current salary.

Okie State has T. Boone Pickens' money, but if they can't match that, he's gone.

And by the way, disaster averted by Tennessee.  I'd rather have Gundy than Schiano.  I really thought the Vols would have to settle for someone much worse than this.

Gundy has butt heads with the OSU administration and Pickens in the past. Maybe he feels the support isn't there for them to break through the glass ceiling to get to Oklahoma's level. Of course he'll really have his work cut out for him at Tennessee....but who wouldn't.

ESPN also reporting that Tennesee is targeting Jeff Brohm and Kevin Steele for the job.
